Dear Destination Canada,
Additional documents are those which had not submitted with Full documents(not required at the stage of full docs.)
Visa Officer may ask additional documents during inprocess or prior to medical... For example.. If He/she wants more clarification about Work Experience, they may ask salary slips etc... If some one claimed relative points and VO has doubt that Relative is not currently residing in Canada.. They may ask proof of relative currently residing in Canada...
So, normally VO do not demand additional docs. If our application with full documents was complete with all respects.
