ya, it's a bit concerning for me that it's still "Application Received" even if i have Medical Received

hi lyrxus,
do not worry about ECAS status, relax and wait 1 more week before contacting them.

Guys just a quick one... I am planning to file application with in this week. Just require one clarification. Do i require reference letters for all skilled and unskilled jobs ? i worked 2 months for tim Horton, 8 month for subway and then a year for security company but i am not claiming this experience. Do i still need to provide reference letter even if doesn't have any bearing on application .

i dnt think so, it only says jobs in skilled category if i remember correctly.

but in background declaration form(I believe that is what it is called) you have to mention everything in last 10 years or so

Received MR today at noon. My timeline are as follows:

CIO recvd: 6-Feb-2012
Recvd AOR: 12-Apr-2012 [transferred to Ottawa]
PCC for spouse: 18-Jul-2012
MR: 19-Jul-2012

Thanks for your response bro. Well in the checklist the just said supply reference letters from past and present employers for the past 3 years.. but on the other hand title is " work experience in canada " so i am bit confused.. how you have done it did you provide the letters for unskilled jobs as well or does it ever happened CIC asked for reference letters from any applicant here for the unskilled job ?

No, I received the request on a Friday. I just posted my comment here on a weekend. Hope that clarifies that. I don't know if they update anything on weekends, considering that they are government, I would say no they don't, but who knows.

Well I haven't made it yet. I'm just at the next milestone. Still have to pass the medical and get their approval, but it's certainly better to know where you are in the process than just waiting and wondering why you don't hear anything.
I worked full time in a Skill level B position for almost 3 years before applying. Currently I'm working in a non-skilled position to bridge the time and be able to remain in Canada until I hopefully get PR, soon-ish. Trust me, this can't go fast enough. I guess if my old employer wouldn't have screwed up my work permit extension I wouldn't mind so much, but as it is right now, this process can't go fast enough in my opinion. :)

Hi,

We had applied for PR in the month of February and now waiting for medicals. My spouse is going back to India as her visa is going to expire in Aug. So, is it possible for her to complete her medicals in advance before receiving medical request from CIC? Does anyone has an idea on this?

Thank you.

Hi ujbaby,

I am gona apply for PR soon, I wanted to ask that (as I saw you were in similar situation) that what separation papers do we need to submit? I donot have any documents of my spouse, i am separated and divorce procedure is in process. Is there any proof of separation that I need to submit? or I just write separated and i will not be asked any question about spouse.

Thanks,
Indus

For those that are still going to have their medicals, who are female or applied witha female spouse:

Ok here is a possibly slightly awkward piece of information regarding your medical, but I wish I would have been aware of this!

Apparently you can not complete your medical if you are menstrual or stopped being menstrual in the past couple of days because blood will show up in your urinal test and you are either asked to retake it or if send off to immigration it could lead to either the request for more tests or rejection. So, when booking your medical ensure that you don't book it for during or just after your period. I had no idea that this could cause such an issue, but sure wish i would have been aware beforehand.

I didn't provide any proof of separation because i didnt find it anywhere in the requirements and i haven't proceed with any divorce. in ur case, u can provide the evidence that ur divorce is under process. i guess it will be fine. I am not sure that this alone will disqualify me from cec. i provided other documents like marriage certificates and previous divorces.
