This seems to be more common now, partially completed LPP. I’be been waiting on prohibitions since May, that’s when language and physical presence was completed.

No updates!!
Even MP wasn’t able to get any details other than “prohibitions is in progress” which I already know!

Have you ordered GCMS notes recently?
I wanted to compare notes on one particular aspect under “paper file” heading, Location: “E-grant pending docs”.

Do you have the same location status?

Me too same situation
Few people face this issue. And no one know what is going on . If u call them they don’t give u answer what happened . If u send webform no one answer . Call your MP no one answers,
Waiting for IRCC is madness especially for this part of application

I think it’s purely random luck with absolutely no signs of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, or country of origin. I’m sure most ppl who are facing this issue are typical Western Europe Caucasian minorities.

I also ran into this, but I had mandamus in progress, so they hurried up with completing prohibitions in about a month. I never found out what the deal was; I ordered ATIP notes after the oath, which were slightly redacted, and the email stated this:

Disclosed in part
Section(s) of the Act applied (if applicable): 21 The detection, prevention or suppression of subversive or hostile activities, 22(1)(b) law enforcement and investigation

Not sure if this is normal, or they were hoping to find something exciting in my incredibly boring existence. My guess, they just didn't feel like working, so they made an excuse.

I also had a PR card renewal in progress at the time, which was severely delayed as well.

ATIP email for that one said:

Disclosed in part
Section(s) of the Act applied (if applicable): 22(1)(b) law enforcement and investigation

and they removed 15 page of notes for some reason.

Thanks for sharing!
If I may ask, how long was your prohibitions in progress for before it turned to completed?
When did you apply for citizenship?
And at what point in your application did you file for mandamus?

Here is my timeline:

Type: Online application
Location: Montreal, QC
Processing office: Montreal MTL
Physical Presence Days: 1,155 days
Application: Single
Application submitted: June 15, 2021
AOR: Sep 15, 2021
Test taken: Feb 2022
Test updated on tracker: March 1, 2022
Background Verification: Completed Feb 08, 2022, probably updated on Feb 4, 2023
Filed mandamus: early June 2023
Language Skills: June 12 2023
Physical Presence: June 12 2023
Prohibitions: July 17 2023
Citizenship Ceremony: Aug 3 2023

I am fairly sure the mandamus was the reason they finalized the application when they did. They timed it so that they could schedule the oath 1 day before they were required by the law to formally respond to the records we filed. Otherwise, I think, it is whenever they fell like it. Can be 1 day, can be 3 years.

Thank you so much for the details. I’m in contacts with lawyer to file mandamus. Will see how it goes.

Very similar situation here. My timeline is as follows:

AOR: Jan 10, 2023
BG completed: March 10, 2023
Test invite: March 15, 2023
Test completed: March 27, 2023
Language completed: May 30, 2023
Physical presence completed: May 30, 2023

No updates on prohibitions since May. GCMS notes says that all 3 of LPP were assigned to RC-8090 with a due date of January 7, 2024. It's a paper application with the primary office being Surrey IRCC.

Page 3 of the GCMS also mentions 'Grant Review Ready PM03'.

What was your timeline like?
