Hello Forum members

I received my passport with my study permit issued on the friday the 13th of July considered unlucky but not for me for my GOD is with me

All Glory to the LORD GOD of ISRAEL

I started digging into this forum a year back I got my IELTS done in Nov 2012. Gathered a lot of information from this forum

MY PROFILE

AGE: 35 lot of people and consultants told me that a study permit at this age is quiet difficult.

IELTS: 7.5 actually I never prepared for it just hovered trough the pages of the books given by the British Counsel

ACADEMICS: Not so brilliant SSC 1993:74% HSC 1995: 48% could have been a reason for rejection
WORK EXPERIENCE: Worked as a waiter 10 years with a cruise company based in Miami I attached my experience letters with my file

One year gap in 2008 not working

My passport will be expiring next year in june.

PROGRAM ADMITTED: Diploma in Hospitality Management at NAIT Edmonton Alberta total expense for one year 25000CAD

Applied under SPP,

I kept it simple only submitted docs as per the check list

app form
student Q
family info,
LOA print out from mail
Pre payment reciept of 1st semester tuition fees
Loan sanction letter from OBC for 11 lakhs against FD of 12,30000 (not an educational loan) could have been a reason for rejection
SSC/ HSC certificates
experience letters
copy of my meds
recommendation letters actually they were random notes given to me by customers when I was working on-board cruise ships
An SOP written from my heart

I have a very good travel history I have been to Canada several times. I filled the student Q truthfully didn't exaggerate the available funds
And pure Grace of GOD helped me in getting my study permit.

Lucky you are... congrats!!! ;D

Oh yes In-fact I did send them extra docs. SOP is required if you have gap years and some minor discrepancies in your profile
any ways all the best for your Visa.
