Hi everyone, How are you all? How are you settling in? Best of luck to those who are still waiting for passport/visa :)

Hello everyone.

As i am planing for my post grad in Canada . I am pretty much anxious about part time job there. Because i have to earn the tuition fees myself. becaz i will not hv any family support further. so is it possible for international student to earn $1500 per month? and it will be more helpful if any one can give me the information about the living cost and income of an international student in Toronto. Moreover i m trying for lambton college, toronto for 2 years masters. tuition fee is $12000 per year. how much I hv to earn to survive there including savings of my tuition fees and how?

I badly need a reply...becaz i m trying for jan session.

Thank You

No, you cannot earn $1,500 per month as a student unless you work full-time and leave your study. You might be able to earn $1,500 or more during summer vacation if you work at restaurant. You will have to wait around seven or eight months (six months waiting period and one or two months for application processing) to get the work permit. How are you going to survive those months? Not all the colleges and programs are eligible for Post Graduate Work Permit. Make sure your college and program is eligible for PGWP.

Hello everyone,
I'm looking for a low cost post-graduate study course (Masters / diploma ) in Business Administration or allied subjects. (I'm afraid I'm not getting any funding or TA/ RA-ship). Preferably in Ontario/ Alberta. Want to apply for PR/work permit after finishing study.

• Can any one suggest me on where to look for?
• Do Bangladeshi students get visa for studying in colleges ? I heard success rate is too low, compared to Uni's.
• Can GMAT help me in this regard ? I mean, can it get me scholarship/funding or TA/ RA-ship ?

My profile in brief:
• Job Experience: 4.5 yrs+ in a local commercial Bank. Joined as Management Trainee.
• MBA: Management Information Systems (MIS), University of Dhaka, CGPA: 3.25 out of 4.0 (69% marks),2008
• BBA: Finance, University of Dhaka, CGPA : 2.59 out of 4.0 (64 % Marks), 2007
• IELTS (General Training): Overall: 7.5 ( L: 8.0, R: 8.0, W: 7.0, S: 6.5 ), June, 2013

Have a nice day !

Salehin

Sorry, I don't have any idea about Sarnia. Sarnia might be cheaper than other city but how about job opportunities? Toronto is a large city and job opportunities are higher.

You should consider job prospects before choosing the subject. In addition, you should consider university rather than college. If you complete one year Masters from any publicly funded university, you might be able to apply for PR through PNP without job offer. You can get more info from the following link.

as far as I know that its better not to show any relatives in canada...bcaz visa officer may think that u will live in canada permanently as u hv relatives there...they mainly see that will u come to ur home after completing ur course or not. mainly after reading ur file they hv to be convinced that ur purpose is only for study.

I second scorpion_ca in this matter. You can earn $1500/mo (even more!) in Toronto by working full-time in clubs/bars/restaurants where tips are abundant. Obviously, this is going to hamper your studies. I've seen UofT Bangladeshi students working in clubs till 4 am, sleep during day-time and totally miss classes.

I live in Sarnia and yes it's less expensive to live here. You may save few hundreds from renting and transportation; but you won't have as many job opportunities as GTA can offer you. FYI, you may become a vegetarian in Sarnia since there is no halal meat store/ restaurant here ;D.
