Hi friends, come back after a break! Just found the following paragraph from another thread.

CIC is working to closely manage arrivals in Canada, so that we meet, but do not exceed the immigration levels plan set by Parliament last fall for 2011. Since we have larger inventories than room within the immigration plan for admissions to Canada, we must stagger the review of applications throughout the year.

We do not anticipate that we will begin to process federal skilled worker applications from March 2010 during the current calendar year. If we are able to initiate processing earlier, we will contact you.

Although this is a response from Buffalo Office, if it is a general representation of all VO, we might need to wait more! Lets see....

National ID - A problem without solution !!

In the new application form we need a national ID expire date in order to validate the form. If we cannot validate the form the Canadian Immigration office will send our application back. And if we give an expire date by ourselves, (without proof) they may call it misrepresentation later & reject our application as the new Machine readable passport has our “National ID” Numbers.

Can anybody have any idea about this? Can anyone talk to the Bangladeshi agents & help us out? I heard the National ID office is in “Agargoa”. Is it possible to get a letter from that office which says the expire date of the national ID card is 15 years?
Please Reply. Thank you.

This is a very good issue that you raised. All the new applicants will face this problem and maybe even the old applicants who are going to reapply or add their spouse with their application will have to enter their National ID number, issue and expiry dates. This is what you can do:

1. First of all try to get confirmation from Election Commission Secretariat in Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, about its real expiry date. You can also check with National ID office that you mentioned. There is a very helpful member here, 'deba_avik' you can try talking to him as he has contact with UNDP and they are working with Election Commission. So he might be of great help. Debasis vai, if you're reading this, please help this new member with his problem. This is a big problem for new and future applicants. So, kindly share your inputs about expiry date and how to get a letter/statement about the expiry from respective office.

2. Previously, a high senior member by the username of 'Baloo', solved a similar problem for a Vietnamese applicant. He suggested that, the expiry date be set as far as possible say, 20 years, 30 years whatever you feel like and then with the attested copy of your National ID you can attach an additional page, saying that you don't know the expiry/expiry date is not available on the card and then state the reason you provided the expiry date was just so you can 'Validate' the form and get the bar codes. The VO will be understanding enough and not consider this as misrepresentation. If there is NO expiry then you've got nothing to do. Just give an explanation with the accompanying National ID copy. But first find out whether there IS or ISN'T any expiry date!

Stay in touch.
