Hi Rumel Bhai.

We are planning to land on beginning of Feb.
Then i will return country within 2 weeks times but my spouse and kids will be there.
After three months i will permanently join with them.

Currently i am looking for suitable 2 rooms apartment included all utilities near good elementary school and grocery shop including available transportation facilities.

I already book our tickets through Cathey Pacific by very good price offered from their year end promotional rate.

Though we didn't receive our passport yet but expecting those within Dec.

Please advise if you have any idea.

I think landing by April is good plan because at that time Winter will almost end and beginning of Summer.

Normally, there is extreme winter in January, February and March. Specially, January and February.
As your kids are not habituated with extreme cold, I think you should reschedule your landing time.
However, if they come on February, they will not get admission in any school before September.

Try to get rent near Victoria Park ave. 9 Crescent, 7 Crescent are good for apartment and also try transfer your job

So, try to come by April or May. Its my suggestion for you.

I have sent my pp a week ago but still "We sent you correspondence......." this line for PPR is not updated in my ecas.

Its not an issue. Status update will be happened any time but normally they update it after sending PPR

Many thanks for your suggestions.
Yes we knows about the extreme cold during our landing time but we don't have any choice at this moment.
We have a family program in early May at USA and we have to attend there and we want to complete our plan at CA before go there otherwise it will be difficult to get return to CA. On the other hand if we go USA first then come to CA would be very late for us.

So I think it will be ok for this plan.
School admission will be any time for kids at CA as i know.
It may not admit for some schools who are very highly rated or very competition to admission but most of schools are allowed to admit at any time as we are immigrating and kids are not wait a long time to go school other than they are studying at home.

After how many days from sending the PCC you have received the PPR. Please let me know.

Hi Mustaeem Bhai,

Our landing fee and PCC has received at SGVO on 30 Oct.
And we have received our PPR on 6th Dec (at Email) but their email date was 5th Dec.

So almost 36 days was the timing to issue our PPR

I am a bit confused here. I have bought tickets for Ottowa (Turkish Air, Dhaka>Istanbul>Toronto>Ottowa) . But as there is no direct flight to Ottowa, my flight has a transit at Toronto for 2 hours. ???

Now my question is, do i need to do any sort of Immigration formality at Toronto or directly can i do the immigration formalities at Ottowa? If i need to do immigration formalities at Toronto, is 2hours enough for it? :

I don't think that there is any direct flight from/to Ottawa. The 3 major airports which frequently accommodate int'l flights to Asian countries are Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. FYI, Ottawa is 2 hour drive from Montreal whereas it's 5 hour drive from Toronto.

Usually, you have to do immigration formalities at your first point of entry in Canada, which means it's Toronto for you. The actual meeting/interview doesn't take too long, but there is normally a long line-up to reach immigration when such large int'l flight arrives although the line moves up pretty fast. FYI, there is no separate line for new immigrants either.

Now whether 2 hours will be enough largely depends on your connecting flight. If you need to claim all luggage and/or change terminals; it may not be enough. If you have goods to follow and you need to declare them, it may cause some delays at immigration/custom as well. I would recommend to leave more time (minimum 3 - 4 hours) to take the next flight to Ottawa for any unforeseen circumstances.

Hi Bro,

I like to travel through Cathey/Dragon air rather than go through middle east flights to US apart from UK.

Apart from Turkish airline price is much cheaper by Dragon Air to CA/US route.

If go through dragon air website http://www.dragonair.com/ka/en_BD.html and book your trip (just see the price) from your one way ticket then you will get the discounter price now.

We booked our ticket for Toronto through an agent and got the price as below~
Adult oneway - Tk60K
Child oneway - Tk45K
Adult return - TK.90K

Only Sunday is the best timing to travel which is almost 21/22 hours travel from start to land (inducing layover time at HKG airport)

I think you can try this route if you didn't ever choose.

Thank you brother for this detail guidelines! It would be very much helpful for them who are going to submit their PP at VFS. +1 for you......

Some tips/info regarding PP submission at VFS, Dhaka:

# I went inside VFS at 9:10 AM and was the 6th in queue. So, I suggest others to go at 9:00 AM sharp to avoid crowd.
# Don't forget to take 'VFS-Canada token' from security guard at the entry stairs in ground floor. ( Weird procedure, this wasted my 10 minutes, as I was denied entry at 4th floor & had to return downstairs, to collect that token. :-X There are other VFS offices too, so make sure you are collecting token for VFS-Canada). By 9:25 AM my PP submission was completed.
# Don't carry excess baggage, just take the bare necessary papers, passport, cash etc only. No other device, accept switched on mobile phones are allowed inside VFS. They do a lot of checking/scanning in the entry.
# Carry cash with adequate change. I had to pay BDT 2821 (PP transmission fee BDT 2764 + SMS notifications fee BDT 57). Fee schedule: http://www.vfsglobal.ca/Canada/bangladesh/Service_and_Service_Charge.html
# Ppl like me who rely on public transports such as bus, be aware that most buses who had routes through Gulshan area recently have changed route due to security issues. New bus (Dhaka Chaka) & other transports (CNG) have been introduced there. So, plan accordingly.
# PP submission tips from VFS http://www.vfsglobal.ca/Canada/bangladesh/how_to_apply.html#. see "Passport Transmission Services" section in the middle of the page.
# Tracking PP via VFS website : http://www.vfsglobal.ca/Canada/bangladesh/track_your_application.html I received 1 SMS & 1 email with same update as in this webpage, on the submission date.

Things I needed:
1. My Passport
2. Photo (02 copies) in a envelope
3. Photocopy of my PP (They return it with receipt)
4. Printout of PPR e-mail (first 03 pages of the attachment)
5. Printout of Appendix -B (filled in) of PPR email attachment. Appendix A is for guidance only, I guess. Pls, read the whole attachment PDF carefully.

Other than Turkish, China Eastern/Southern or Dragon you cannot get cheap regular price in other airlines i.e. JET, Emirates, Etihad, Soudia, Biman, Cathay etc. until there is any discount of any kind, for example year end or anniversary sale.

Currently, JET, Dragon, China Eastern & Turkish airlines are offering 60K, approx figure one-way ticket. But it's true that agents can always offer you less price always.

So, first of all, flight with more stops/transits, longer duration or nightly departure/arrival are more cheap. I always rely on the followings for cheap air tickets:

1. Google flights: https://www.google.com/flights/ Truly an unique way to integrate flights with google.
2. Orbitz: https://www.orbitz.com/ The background performer of google flights.
3. SkyScanner: https://www.skyscanner.net/ My personal favorite & a great performer.
4. cheapflights: http://www.cheapflights.com/ Site, linked up with all.

Using these tools, I'm getting a Total fare of BDT 58,071 from Dhaka to Toronto one-way by Cathay Pacific on different dates of Jan/Feb/Mar of 2017 using SkyScanner. While you are searching in SkyScanner, just select cheapest month option!!!
