Very very surprised to see that CIC is not accepting PR application of one person since his information did not match with his "Linkedin"profile ! ! ! OMG :o :o :o ! ! ! CIC checks "Linkedin" ! ! ! This is a red alert for all. I did not take it seriouly initially though somebody warned me. Since my Linkedin profile is not appropriate, so i m dead.
Can anybody pls tell me how they check Linkedin profile ? ? ? Do they check FB profile too? ? ? Do they check this forum? ? ?
I want to know details about this online verification. Should i close all online account? ?
Can anyone pls help me out? ? ?

hi, i m new to the forum.. i applied for canadian PR and after getting AOR i got an email today that they are not convinced with the letter i provided them from my employer. it specifically said that it doesn't match the open source such as linkedin and therefore it seems it is fake.. (ridiculous)

that is a little tough to swallow as i dont really update my profile and my linkedin was hacked some years ago.

they have given 30 days to respond ... any instance like that with anyone before... and what are the chances now ?

thanks

Yesterday I got my GCMS...it was written that, SGVO sent me 30 days Procedural Fairness letter about JD mismatch on 03.06.2015...but I did not get any. My consultant did not inform me anything.

They also said my consultant is "Ghost Consultant" and they are unauthorized and undeclared. Don't know what to do. Expect ur suggestion.

Hi Bro,

It seems your consultant is ghost, they should receive the fairness letter from VO by email otherwise VO may send your letter to your mailing address, if the mailing address is same of your consultant address then it might be problem.

Better to raise CSE and explain that you didn't receive the letter based on your latest GCMS note and please don't forget to mention the ref of latest GCMS note number.

Request them to send it again with another period of time.

Meantime you could prepare your job details as per your claim NOC as it is very confused NOC with all financial related issue and duties.

Best of luck.

Hi Bro,

Actually CIC has added one field on application online status (ECAS) since beginning of March'15. They are showing Home address and Mailing address (If both address is not same) on top of the webpage.

So no need to worry for this. Many of them already updated in that time and I guess rest of just updated from last week (24-Jul) on the ECAS.

Usually VO/CIC contacts applicant by their email ID or Mail address but home address is showing that the applicant from origin.

Cheers!!
Thanks for your response. Do you suggest me to inform CIC about the change of my mailing address then?

NO Need, your ECAS info based on your application. Those are for their record.
If you want to change your one of those addresses then you need to go through the process of change the address...

You are paying a huge amount to the consultant for their so called service (actually they do nothing except document queue which you have collected by yourself)

++++++

Now you are also having pain due to their so called service which value is undefined.

Your immigration expenditure is undefined with anxieties, pain, mental stress and other factors

Brother don't be too shocked to know that CIC/VO check Linkedin profile and they prioritize Linkedin profile job responsibilities with Applicants submitted JD...My colleague's GCMS had a note regarding missmatch of JD and Linkedin Job responsibilities..Both me and my colleague got site verification after that GCMS..So its already proven that VO check linkedin profile for almost all applicant

i also found few GCMS notes of applicants where VO mentioned they found similarity of JD and Linkedin profile and VO acknowledged that

Rather than closing all online account, I would suggest you to update ur Linkedin Profile,FB account..

Good Luck

do u think i shud update linkedin now as i have got email from visa officer that they already checked it

Sorry to hear that..Whats ur conultants view regarding this?

One note of advice from me if you want to send the PF letter..Don't change Majority portion of your new Job Responsibilities, rather than try to give evidence of your already mentioned responsibilities (ex. Training conduct document, certificates, appreciation letter etc.)

Is there missmatch of Job responsibilities mentioned in Linkedin profile and your submitted JD? Or your linkedin profile does not have enough information? Where did u get the information that VO checked ur linkedin ? - Via GCMS?

my linkedin profile does not have information at all. the letter specifically states: "I have noted that your employment cited in open sources, such as from your Linkedin account are significantly at variance with what you have submitted. There is no indication that you were ever actually employed at xxx company".
