Hello Bhai,

Thanks for the tips - Bangla style.

You mentioned about computers and suggested to take computers from Bangladesh but how do we deal with the voltage issue? Here, in BD, we have the 220V system but in Canada they have 110V. Are adapters/converters so common these days there? Pls share your exp.

Hi Apa,

It is a bit strange to hear that business schools ask for GMAT because even engineering programmes at the Master's level in Canada never asked me for GMAT and those were reputed universities. I once got admission offers from 3 out of 4 universities I applied to, for Master's studies in engineering. Here is the list of those 3 universities:
1. McMaster
2. Concordia
3. University of Western Ontario

It was back in 2010. Perhaps things changed since then.....

You are right.

For most of Canadian universities required only TOEFL or IELTS(Competent level) and Good CGPA for Admission and Funding.

GRE is required only for USA ( Some of the German Universities required nowadays and TUM is one of them) if you are intending to do MS or Phd in Engineering. For BBA, GMAT is required as well.

If you have low CGPA with good GRE(in your case GMAT) score, you can easily get fund with admission in USA.

on the other hand, Canada required high CGPA and other things are optional.

mcgyver Bhai & Rumel Bhai,

I contacted the below four along with two other personally for admission without GMAT. As i have good CGPA in my BBA and MBA along with good IELTS score, i thought they would let me in. But each of them replied the same. GMAT is mandatory. There is no way to bypass it if i would like to get in the Business School either for MBA or PhD. More over they ask for good score, the minimum requirement i found in one of them was 550.

*The Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa
*Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary
*Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia
*Sprott School of Business, Carleton University

Regards

As per latest (surprise !!!!) GCMS notes i am going to receive MR and PCC submission.
But question is when I will get that mail from SGVO as more than one month passed as per GCMS. :( :( :( :(

MR request note added on GCMS on 26-Feb-2015.

Criminality: In progress ("Send letter to applicant requesting Bangladesh Certificates" -- In note section)
Security: Not started
Medical: Not Started ("Medical to be started" -- In note section).

IF you have any relative in Canada you can get it for only CAD 5 other wise it will require CAD to apply from BD.

How to apply for GCMS?

https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/requesterInformation

this site says, "To be eligible to make a request, you must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or an individual or corporation currently present in Canada."

Please reply ASAP, I want to apply NOW!!!

Ok, so, for business studies, they ask for GMAT. Good to know.

[whispering] Up until 2 minutes ago I thought GMAT = General Mathematics. :-X :-[ I have just found out GMAT = Graduate Management Admission Test. Now it all makes sense. This is what happens when you never have had to take GMAT in life.

Its required for those Top ranked universities except Sprott School of Business, Carleton University

You can compare it as like Cal Tech, Stony broke,University of California, berkeley and riverside where requirements are so high for admission.

As you have good CG in MBA and BBA then you can sit for GMAT(its my personal view).

My colleagues, juniors and subordinates also doing MS in Manitoba, Concordia, Univ of Calgery, BC.

But they have given the IELTS/TOEFL exam only. May be for MBA its different requirements.

Just mail to the Grad Student Representative with your profile.

Is there anybody who applying to QSWP 2015?

I applied on March 2.

They even checked my linkedIn profile which I updated on January. :P

May be they skipped for requesting latest JD (procedural fairness) because of this linkedIn updates :P :P

So, from the GCMS note I discover one thing that if your spouse is not mentioned in FB profile and not added in friend list, you will be asked for proof of relationship :D :D

May Allah help us all
what is GCMS note anyway and how would I know it?

GCMS-Global Case Management System

Its just a log system. Whatever they(CIC, SGVO) do with our file they just give the entry.
If you request for GCMS note then the log file will be generated and ATIP authority will send it you.

to raise GCMS just see the below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_E_dq_uLVo
https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do

FOSS:

I found it in my GCMS note. Generally, they assign applicants' file to third party(here Open Source agent) for verification.

FOSS - File Open Source Status. where the result of third party agent is stated.

Hope this will help.
