To all those who are confused on how to carry Proof of Fund (in Canadian dollar or equivalent).

Recent Bangladesh Bank regulation allows up to USD 7000 per person per year for travel to non saarc destinations (including Canada).

So a couple can carry upto 14000 USD legally ( 7000 each) which is equivalent to 16000 Canadian dollar.

Here in the original link

and select FAQ in foreign exchange

Thanks a lot for the information.

Hi,

You can create a RFCD account if you have been abroad in the last 1 year. If you create such, you can deposit USD 5000 for the travel of the past 1 year and USD 5000 each subsequent visit from now on out of the country, legally. And when going to canada you can take the whole amount of the account by making a DD in your name.

The process of creating an account is very simple, all you have to do is go to your bank with your passport and ask them that you want to create one. They'll check the recent arrival date in Bangladesh, and ask you to fill up an account creation form and also a RFCD declaration form. When your account gets activated, you can purchase the USD from money exchanges and deposit the amount in your account. Pls remember that you can deposit only once for each travel you make abroad, and up to usd 5000.

The account creation might take 1 week or less. But its legal. Also you'll be provided an international debit card against your account with which you can do many many things, such as buying air tickets which can be done through most international credit cards.

Hope this information helps the ones who'll be traveling shortly. Thanks.

Thanks Mr. Tausifh.

Dear all,

I have a quick question. How much money we must take with us when landing Canada? How much is mandatory to carry to Canada? My wife is already settled and has a full time job there with valid work permit. I am the main applicant. Someone said it is mandatory to take the same amount of money we showed during app process!

regards,

johnjarim

Dont worry... file will be reached by 31st if it left Dhaka on 22nd... the question is how much time it takes to reach because of holidays in between... also depend on courier you used... (DHL, Fedex or UPS)

it depends on which courier u selected for delivery. UPS is the best to transfer the fill quickly and DHL is the worst one. I think ur package will reach by 31 December 2014. dont worry and let us know ur progress.. :)

So, can any senior and expert member can put some light on? Can any one predict when SGVO will start working?
