what is GCMS report ? What it does actually? ::) ::)

You can say it is a log book where CIC input every step taken with notes against an application.

Mine is 20K as I promised to SGVO. I guess, we all have to take risk of carrying those money into our pocket. Legally we cannot carry those amount of cash. Other possible solution, if you can open an account in your name in Canada through your friends/relatives, transfer money at that account and show the statement.

Is it mandatory to bring the amount we mentioned in application? I m a bit confused. Cause sumon bhai (landed in Canada) told in one forum get together last ramadan (many known faces of this forum like ekarus, ashif_eee etc also attended there) that its nothing. U dont need to bring any penny. Its just a declaration in canadian port of entry that how much money bring immigrants during landing. They preserve it as a data. We need to clear it now. Any inputs from experienced persons.

Dear Ziafsw,

Congratulation & wish you a successful settlement in CA. Me to under same noc.

Just thinking if we dont carry the said amount of money ( better more) how we will survive early days over there! Unless you have support over there.I m also worried how to carry those in cash form, as BD Bank Rules doesnt allow us more than 5k /pp/yr.Though i m still waiting for MR. By the way in which province/city you are landing? Please keep update after landing also.
Thanks.

i am planning to settle in Edmonton, Alberta. Brother I am telling that do we need to bring the same amount of money that we mentioned in initial app? We can bring suppose 5k USD. frankly speaking and telling the practical situation here that we know everyone the term "Hundy". Regulation dont support u to bring the money but u need to transfer the money. thats the only solution. and this solution also discussed by sumon bhai in our get together in ramadan. initially u can bring small amount of money. when u reach there u can transfer the money (ur relatives or friend can do it for u in bd) through this sort of third party service. as an example told that we don't need to bring any single penny.

Proof of fund is sought by immigrant registration officers in Canada after landing. In most cases they will just ask whether you brought the fund with you, some curious officers may ask you to show it, and some super suspicious officers may want to count the money. This can be confirmed if you read the landing related threads in this forum. My opinion, do not take chance. Take the fund with you. Do travellers cheque for 5000 USD, and carry the rest in cash. ( if married. U can make two travellers cheque of 5000 each, one for u, other for ur spouse, and carry the rest amount in cash).

Today I checked with my bank about my DD encashment. They infomed me that my DD has been encashed. But they cannot give the exact date. Last I called the bank on 15 December. So my DD encashed between 15 - 24 December.

My application date is 19 September 2014.

Its a good news to hear that the DD has been encashed.

Now wait for the PER.

If your bank is SCB, Dhaka, what is the procedure to get such information?

Dear Friends,

I Just have received my AOR from SGVO. Feeling very happy and waiting for the next step. Can you please help me by answering the following queries?

1) I have switched my job last month. Is it necessary to inform it to CIC (SGVO)?
2) If yes, how can I inform it to them?
3) Do I have to send the clearance letter of previous employer and appointment letter of the present employer?
4) I have shown the fund as X-year term fixed deposit which was matured and I re-invested the money in the same bank. Do I need to notify this to CIC (SGVO)?

5) What is the contact procedure to CIC (SGVO)?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
