Spousal Sponsorship

My question is regarding to citizens from Bangladesh, about Part 3: Country specific instructions.

It is very confusing because they have grouped all these countries (General Asia [IMM 3907] instructions for: Bangladesh, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Maldives, Mongolia, Pakistan, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Taiwan) into one catalouge.

For example:

"Authorization to Disclose Information — Pakistan
I, _________________________, hereby authorize the Canadian High Commission in Islamabad, Pakistan
to contact all governmental authorities, including all police, judicial, state and educational............."

But they are from Bangladesh, so this form will not be applicable to them.

So what would they do here?

Should we print out the whole 22pages of it?

Other than the checklist everything else seems is required for citizens of Pakistan or Sri Lanka.

Thanks.

IMPORTANT ISSUE regarding CoPR

Friends,

I have received CoRP (together with Visa stamped in passport) from SGVO ...

in the CoRP of my wife and son, there is a section named 'Dependent's section'

and the question was written as:

Have you any dependents other than those listed below?

then my UCI number, my name and my date of birth

(same info written in both of my wife's and son's 'dependent's section'..

well, the confusion is that, I am (the principal applicant) not their dependent, rather they are my dependent.

anyone can clarify my confusion?

Thanks a lot in advance....

Apu I'm also same boat but they replied and send me this mail:

A change in your family status may affect the processing requirements for your application or the category in which your application is processed. It may also affect the total processing time for your application. If you get married or divorced, give birth to or adopt a child, or if a member of your immediate family passes away while your application for permanent residence is in process, you need to advise the visa office as soon as possible of your change of family composition.

If you applied under the Economic Class, you must also take into account that the amount of money that you need to have to support your family is determined by the size of your family and the cost of living in Canada. Therefore, as your family size has increased, you must increase the amount of settlement funds required to immigrate to Canada. For more information go to: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

To advise us of a change to your family composition, please send us a signed letter, email or fax providing us with all required changes to your file. The following information must be included in the letter if we are to make the changes:

- full name,
- date of birth,
- file number [Letter followed by a nine-digit number],
- telephone number, including area code,
- fax number, including area code, and
- mailing address

As we require your signature on this information, please note that your current family composition has not been amended in our records.

How to add your child to your application:

Important: Note that if your child was born in Canada or if one parent is a Canadian citizen, then the child might be eligible to be a Canadian citizen. If that is the case, you do not need to add the child to your application, and no medical examination or fee is required. You must, however, send us a copy of the child's birth certificate. You should also contact the Consular section of the High Commission of Canada to make sure the child has the appropriate travel document. See these Web pages for information:

You will be required to submit the following documents in order to add your child to your application:

- a letter explaining how your family composition has changed and requesting that your child be added to your application
- processing fee for the child (if accompanying you to Canada)
- an IMM8 application form and Family Information Form filled in for the child
- updated IMM0008 Generic and updated IMM5406 “Additional Family Information” form for yourself and your spouse
- notarized copy of the child's birth certificate
- copy of your child's valid passport
- two recent passport-size photographs of your child according to the specifications

Copies of the original documents with original certified translations into English or French are required.

The required forms can be downloaded at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM0008DEPENU.pdf, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5645E.pdf, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM0008ENU_2D.pdf and http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5406E.pdf

Passport-sized photographs must meet these specifications: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/photospecs.asp

Information about the fees that must be paid can be found here: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/singapore-singapour/visas/fees-frais.aspx

Your child will need to undergo a medical examination. We will send you the appropriate form and instructions after receiving the documents listed above. Be aware that even non-accompanying dependants must undergo medical examinations.

Hope you will get the same mail.

Dear all,

I have received my PER few days back. No AOR yet. However, my passport has been expired and I already got a new passport. Can anyone suggest how do I update my passport information to SGVO.

1. Should I wait till my AOR?

2. Do I have to send it through courier or email? (What is their email add?)

3. Will it effect my processing time?

Are there anyone who has faced my situation? Can you pls explain how did u update the information? Thanks a lot in advance. :) :)

Hello,

You'll receive AOR within 30/40 days from the PER received date.

Yes you should wait for AOR.

You don't need to use any courier.

After Receiving AOR write to them about your passport change & upload your new passport photocopy using the below link...

https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=singapore

Yes it may effect your processing time but not that much if it does.

Thanks a lot buddy. One more thing, do I write to them in a separate email or do I both write to them and upload information on the above mentioned site. Very helpful information. I would have given you +1 here if I could. But since I can't, I give you +1 from the bottom of my heart ;D ;D ;D

Dear Sir/Madam:

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. The processing of your application is almost complete. Before a permanent resident visa can be issued to you (and your accompanying family members, if applicable), you will need to follow the steps below.

Note: This letter is not a guarantee that a permanent resident visa will be issued to you. Upon receipt of items requested below, a final review will be done to determine if you meet all eligibility requirements and are not inadmissible to Canada.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION:

 Within thirty (30) days of the date of this letter, a medical examination must be completed by:
1. you
2. your spouse/common-law partner (if applicable)
3. each of your dependent children (if applicable)
Please follow the instructions sent to you in a separate e-mail message. When you go for your appointment with the Panel Physician, you must bring proof of your identity (government-issued ID card or passport).

After completing your medical examination and all required lab tests, send all the documents from the list below to this office in one envelope.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Right of Permanent Residence fee for yourself & your spouse.

Payment instructions

• You must submit the fee directly to the High Commission of Canada in Singapore.

• Please write your name and your file number (as indicated above) on the back of your bank draft.

• Singapore dollar payments must be made in the form of a CASHIER'S ORDER or BANKDRAFT, drawn on a bank in Singapore and made payable to the HIGH COMMISSION OF CANADA.

• Canadian dollar payments must be made in the form of a BANKDRAFT, drawn on a bank in Canada and made payable to the RECEIVER GENERAL FOR CANADA. Please also ensure that the Date of Issue of the bank draft and the Date of submission of your payment is not more than 4 months apart.

• FOR BANGLADESH: Standard Chartered Bank is the only bank in Bangladesh from which we accept bank drafts.

PERSONAL CHEQUES OR CASH PAYMENTS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. Please pay the exact amount stated in our website http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/singapore-singapour/visas/fees-frais.aspx

• Original passport(s) for you, your accompanying spouse/common-law partner, and each of your accompanying dependent children. See below for detailed instructions.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING YOUR PASSPORT(S):

Submit your passports together with the documents on the check list above.

 Passports are required for:
1. You
2. Your spouse/common-law partner (if applicable)
3. All dependent children who will accompany you to Canada (if applicable)

IMPORTANT NOTES about Reporting Changes to your Personal Circumstances
Canada's immigration law requires that you continue to meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act throughout the immigration process up to and including the date you arrive in Canada. This means you are required to inform this office, in writing, of any of the following circumstances:
- A change in your marital status (marriage, separation, divorce)
- A change in your family size (birth or death of a child or spouse)
- A criminal charge or conviction for you or any member of your family
- Death of your sponsor (Family Class applications)

Before you submit your passports

 Check that there are enough blank pages in the passports to affix permanent resident visas for you and your accompanying family members.

 Check that you have ordinary passports, because permanent resident visas for Canada cannot be issued into DIPLOMATIC / OFFICIAL passports.

 Check the expiry date of the passports for you and your accompanying family members, because a visa cannot be issued with a validity longer than the passport.

 Fill out the form we have included with this letter (Appendix ‘A') and enclose it with your passports.

 If you or any of your accompanying family members currently holds a valid temporary resident visa, study permit, or work permit for Canada in an expired passport, please submit it with your current passport.

 To submit your passports, follow the instructions below for your country of residence.

You must comply with the above requirements within sixty days (60) from the date of this letter. Failure to comply with these instructions may result in the refusal of your application.

IMPROTANT NOTES about Visa and Passport Validity
You should ensure that everyone in your family has a passport valid for a minimum of 12 months from the date of the most recent full medical examination. Visas can only be issued to a maximum validity of 12 months from the date of your most recent immigration Medical Examination (IME) assessment. If your family has medical examination on different dates, the validity of your visas will be 12 months from the date of the first assessment. If any one of your passports will expire before 12 months from the date of the medical examination, your visas will expire on the date of the first passport to expire. If your passports will expire soon, it is your interest to obtain new or updated passports to ensure your visas are issued with maximum validity.

After you submit your passports
 Please allow one month for permanent resident visa(s) to be printed and affixed in your passport(s). Do not contact our office to enquire about the status of your application until after one month has passed.

Important: Do NOT commit to any travel plans, purchase tickets, or take irrevocable action such as selling property or terminating employment until you have received your passport(s) and immigration visa(s)
