Hi Experts,

I have a friend in Canada who is a Canadian citizen. I will ask him to collect GCMS notes on my behalf by merely paying $5.00. But, before that, I am being extra cautious.

I have tried to create a dummy request by clicking the ATIP online link and faced two questions that seem to be show-stoppers. The reason is that somewhere on this forum someone once pointed out that if we click/select wrong options it may cause our files to be removed from the queue, and incur great delay in processing! I regret that I didn't save the link to that forum post.

Please see below the questions I see on the ATIP online form and confirm whether answering these questions wrongly could indeed put our files in trouble.

Which type of records do you wish to request?
Option1: Case Files
Option2: Corporate Records

What type of information would you like to request?
Option1: Notes in Electronic File
Option2: Physical File

https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/privacyTerms.do

If you are overseas, someone else (a Citizen, Permanent Resident, or someone physically present in Canada) will have to obtain them for you under the Access to Information Act. This can be a relative, friend or sponsor, or a commercial service. For this there is a $5 fee (more if you use a commercial service), and you will have to provide consent.

Average time you will get your GCMS notes: 30 days

And now let me u if u have any further ques...

U can ask CIC about the status of ur app since it has passed over 4 months.....Below is the procedure....

Also keep us updated with ur news....

E-Mail Address for Enquiry about application:

Consider the above without space.

Please include below info on the email body:

Put ur Passport Number
Put ur Date of Birth
Put ur Full Name
UCI Number (if any)
NOC code
App rcvd date

Ohh...dont worry for that....This process was meant only for the "GCMS REPORT GENERATION PROCESS" not the PR app processing....there is no relation bet this two.....


If u go with the mentioned link u will not find the ques 1....

For the ques 2--- it will be "Via email".

Try to go through with this link....And if more ques is raised then let us know...

Brothers Can you please enlighten me about Proof of fund requirement? For a family size of 4 i need to show $21,971 as my savings. Now, I have some FDR in SIBL. Can i use them to show my proof of fund? what will be the procedures? However I have less than the required amount in my account and thought that will loan the money from my parents and create an account of my own just before my application. But just heard that at least 3 months old accounts are required. Is it true? If it is so then I am in great trouble.

First of all what u heard is a bit perverting....That is not mandatory ...its optional....

And FDR is a good form of POF....

So take a bank cert for that FDR (with CAD conversion.)....

And for the last bank acc take a bank cert (with CAD conversion.) no need to send statement since u do not have maturity ...

My accounts are MTDR at SIBL. Hope that will do. CAD conversion is done by respective bank or some third party involvement is required?

ofcourse the bank....Ask them to give the CAD info while issuing the bank certificate.....

In the certificate bank will mention the amount in BDT as well as amount equivalent to CAD with conversion rate of respective date.........

CAD conversion is not mandatory. Cic can do that as well.
