Dear BD_Dhaka,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. I really appreciate you for taking the time out and writing such a long note.

I have recently visited Canada to complete my landing formalities and would like to share my experience accordingly:

1. It is always advisable to take as much money as you can with you while moving to Canada. Now we are legally allowed to take US$7000.00 per adult and US$3500.00 per child with us as per travel quota. To take more money than this, there are some tricks you need to play. You can issue an international Demand Draft payable to you and your wife from any bank in Bangladesh up to US$7000.00 per head. Now the respective bank will endorse this in your passport. This 2 DD you can encash in the Canadian bank but will take around 2 weeks. You can buy another US$7000.00 per head from any money changer. The airport people didn't ask any question to me about money but it is not guaranteed. They will not be interested to find the DD from you as it is just a per copy and you can tell them you are carrying cash USD as per travel quota. I would suggest to take cash CAD instead of USD to minimize the transaction loss.

2. My favorite airline in this route is Emirates specially if you are traveling with kids. You can get the same ticket in discounted price from IOM. Emirates will give you hotel while transiting in Dubai. They will give you the hotel voucher while checking in Dhaka and you can collect the visa coupon in Dubai airport Emirates counter near the immigration desk. Its pretty simple and they will guide you through the time. All of them speaks good English. You will get 2 bags of 23KG per adult and 1 bag of 23KG per children. I would suggest to take less number of suitcases and instead take cartoons of medium/big sizes from packers & movers company.

3. You can now complete the basic immigration formalities in Toronto airport i.e. landing formalities with the passport and COPR, customs and SIN. Rest of the things you need to complete by vising the Service Canada office.

4. You don't need to pay any money for the luggage trolleys any more. Now it is free of charge.

I will share more of my experience later on.

Regards,
Fuad

Dear Seniors,

I'm a graduate engineer on E.E.E. and have almost 7 years experience in Telecom sector. But the duties and responsibilities described in NOC-2011 for code 2133 (http://www23.statcan.gc.ca/imdb/p3VD.pl?Function=getVD&TVD=122372&CVD=122376&CPV=2133&CST=01012011&CLV=5&MLV=5)

do not quite match with those of telecom engineers. Shall I apply under 2133? Is there any possibility of getting succeeded (getting PR visa)?
Your suggestions will be highly appriciated.

TT

Hello,

Need some suggestions. If I apply within 15th August 2014 and if the cap of 1000 fills up, what will happen to my application. Will they refund it or keep it for the next years application?

Naveed.

Hi,

I applied for FSW 2014 under category University Lecturer (NOC 4011). It has been only a month that I have sent my application. So, I haven't heard anything from them. I have some confusions:
1. My IELTS score is 7
L: 7
S: 8
W: 7
R: 6.5

In Canadian Bench mark it is 21. Am I correct?

2. My 4 years Bachelor and 1 year MA degree is equivalent to Canadian 4 years Bachelors degree according to ECA report of WES. Am I going to be rejected as my MA is not being considered, which is necessary for being university lecturer?

It will be returned. You will not be charged for CC or your DD will not be encased.

Absolutely, your application will be returned and CC will not be charged or DD will not be en-cashed.

So, hurry up.

Hi,

Anyone know how to get a second copy of IELTS from British council in dhaka. What is the procedure.

CIC is really taking a long time for PER> I have applied and paid through SCB International DD. I am afraid if my DD will be expired so I called to standard Chartered. And they assured me there would not be any problem with that. Guys can u tell me what is the exact validity of SCB DD otherwise if CIC does not get to en-cash the DD on time, mu app will be rejected.
Thanks!
