You can bring money into Canada in different forms. When you arrive, you must tell a border official if you are carrying more than C$10,000.

If you bring more than C$10,000 (or the equivalent in another currency) into Canada, you must declare the amount when you arrive. You must fill out form Cross-Border Currency or Monetary Instruments Report - Individual (E677) [PDF]. http://www.settlement.org/sys/link_redirect.asp?doc_id=1003196

If you do not declare it, you may need to pay a fine or face other penalties. You are not taxed on the money you bring with you when you land.

You can bring money into Canada in the form of:

Cash
Securities in bearer form (for example, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills)
Negotiable instruments in bearer form (for example, bank drafts, cheques, travellers' cheques, money orders)
Transfer of funds between your bank and a Canadian bank

Speak with your financial institution before you come to Canada about currency laws and regulations in Canada and in the country you are leaving. There may be restrictions on the amount of money you can take out of the country.

If you are coming from a country that has currency restrictions, you may have up to 3 years to import goods purchased with this money in your former country. However, you must show CBSA proof that you faced restrictions.

Hi everyone,

I am an FSWP2013 applicant...we just received our PER yesterday (alhumdullilah)

Just wondering...usually how long does the entire PR process take for a Bangladeshi applicant in general from the time the application reaches SGVO till MR?

Thanks

Hi friends and respected seniors,

I am M-I applicant. I updated my documents (including paid visa fees) in November 2012. From LVO, I received medical request in Decemeber 2012 and passed through Medical examination in January 2013. I contacted visa office and they informed me that they have received my medicals with a validity of January 2014. And my case is going through routine background checks. Now it has been 8 months since I passed through Med Exam. Do you have an idea how much more time they would take for PPR 1 or 2?

Second, could you please share your experience of visa validity date. Do LVO issue a valid visa until one-year validity of medicals of they give some extra/grace period? I am finding resignation issues with my current job in Pakistan - I may give resignation to my current employer (with a legal binding) either in Sept 13 or after March 14, while my medicals are expiring in January 2014.

I am also finding an issue that LVO is not responding - I contacted them one month ago by email and post...

Please inform me if you have knowledge/experience about it.

Best wishes to all. Good Luck.

Important notes about Visa and Passport validity

You should ensure that everyone in your family has a passport valid for a minimum of 12 months from the date of the most recent full medical examination. Visas can only be issued to a maximum validity of 12 months from the date of the medical examination. (If your family has medical examinations on different dates, the validity of your visas will be 12 months from the date of the first medical examination). However, if any one of your passports expire before 12 months from the date of the medical examination, your visas will expire on the date of the first passport to expire. If your passports are due to expire, it is in your interest to obtain new or updated passports to ensure your visas are issued with maximum validity.

Ekhon jekhaney uthben sei address diben. (If you dont have your apartment already rented.)
If you have rented already you give that address. If you plan to shift, dont give that as it is not yet true.
And even if you shift later, they will have that clue, no worries.
But if you give an address you wish to reside later, that might be false statement and might be an offense.

regards.
