We received your application for permanent residence on June 7, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on October 6, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the Singapore office. They are pending review.

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on March 7, 2012.

"In Process" since March 7. Is it a ominous sign or the Singapore VO is taking this long in reviewing/processing cases? Can anyone respond please!

Most of us have the same status, who applied before Jun26,2010. I m tired of seeing this status everyday.

Hello Fellow mates, this is Anup from Bangladesh. I have got a unique problem, not found too many useful information in INTERNET. So I need your help. :( I am a Hindu who is married to a Muslim women and as per the Muslim Marriage Act in Bangladesh. I have changed my name by legal affidavit. My Hindu Name was Anup Das and Muslim name is Arif Biswas. So my marriage certificate shows the name Arif Biswas. But problem is I did not change my name in passport, university certificates and in my job documents. Now the problem is can I apply with this passport which is showing my previous name? I want to add my wife in application but how I can add? FYI We are married for 4 years. Please advice. BTW I want to apply under new FSW stream. Will be waiting for your valuable feedback. Take care. Thanks.

I think you should maintain a same name in every paper, it would protect you from unavoidable difficulties ...

There is no branch of Scotia Bank in Bangladesh. But Bank Asia has a scotia branch at kazi nazrul islam ave. dont know about their function.
You can contact with Unmesh Bhatt (E-mail unmesh.bhatt@scotiabank.com) who is in charge of Scotia Bank for India and Bangladesh. I think he will be able to answer all your queries.

Dear Arif,

Just apply your common sense....and think in this way:

1. Who am I? - Anup Das/Arif Biswas?
2. What should my identity documents reprents? - Of course the identity you would like to carry on [it does NOT necessarily mean that you need to change everything since you born].
3. What other documentations should represent? - This is a critical one. Since you changed your name four years back, we understand that all the previous documents are carrying your 'previous name' in an inherent fashion. For instance, certificate of the SSC/HSC/Ungergrad/Grad/Post Grad (anything before last four years timeline). Similarly, your latest passport should represent your 'existing name'.

So, if you can produce all the legal documents with appropriate justification, I DO NOT see any problem having the documents in the ‘previous name' [its not a matter of name, its matter of identity at a given timeline]. But you need to make sure that you describe the situation very thoroughly, supported by legal evidence.

Even in the Schedule-1, there is a cell like this:

Other names you are or have been using
(including name at birth, previous married names, aliases)

So, you have ALL the legitimate right to show your ‘previous name' over there. You need to respect all your identity, mate!

Best of luck!

P.S. I just shared my view, you should validate/consult with professional folks.

NO. At least Bangladesh Bank website does not say anything about that.

http://www.bangladesh-bank.org/links/links.php?ltype=1

There is a branch of Bank Asia named as Scotia Branch. But this is no how a branch of Bank Scotia. You can check with this number:

880-2-8110161, 8125011

Thanks!

Asia bank Scotia branch was before Scotia Bank, later purchased by Bank Asia. Now Asia Bank is the corresponding bank of Scotia Bank in Bangladesh. Question is what and why do you need Scotia Bank?
