Hi Seniors,

I am asking a question on behalf of a friend who is not a member of this forum yet. He is claiming pints for relatives living in Canada as his sister lives there His case is genuine. But birth certificates of them has a mismatch regarding Mother's Name. One certificate says 'Selina Khatun' and the other one says 'Selina Khanom'. Father's name is ok in both papers.

Should it be a problem? If yes, what should be done to rectify this? Please share your opinion.
change your friends birth certificate name . this is the most easiest and safest way.

Tahmid

This winter, CIC Deputy Minister Neil Yeates and Associate Deputy Minister Peter Sylvester will be holding roundtable meetings with Canadian employers to seek input that will help inform CIC’s economic immigration programs and policies. CIC’s outreach to employers is aimed at getting a better understanding of their challenges, particularly related to workforce planning, hiring and recruitment, and how they use the immigration system.

The discussions will focus on the following topics:

Making the selection of high-skilled, labour-market ready workers more demand-driven;
Modernizing how we manage immigration applications, to better control intake, prevent backlogs and improve processing times;
Positioning the Temporary Foreign Worker Program to respond to Canada’s economic needs – complementing, not displacing local labour supply.
Supporting economic growth and competitiveness is a Government of Canada priority. As such, even in a time of global economic uncertainty, immigration is necessary for Canada’s long-term economic health and success.

CIC recognizes that our immigration system could be more attuned to meeting immediate and regional skills shortages while continuing to respond to longer term, national labour force needs. We look forward to input from employers and stakeholders.

The first roundtable meeting will be held on February 9, 2012, in Halifax, followed by others to be announced in due course.

Consultations on Parents and Grandparents

CIC will also be holding consultations with stakeholders and the public to seek feedback on possible options for the re-design of Canada’s parent and grandparent program. Details of these consultations will be available on our website in the coming weeks.

Hey Deba_Avik,

As promised before, I am sharing the latest news about my COC letter from Singapore.

As you may recall my apeal letter for issuance of COC, Singapore Police Force informed me that my apeal has been accepted and I went to apply for the COC letter yesterday.

Also, the VISA office answered my Email and sent me a request letter containing my name requesting the Singapore Police Force to issue the COC for me ( the letter came late, because I have applied already without the letter).

So, you may have two choices:

1- For saving time, you can make an appeal in Singapore Police Force for the COC. ( This itself will take 10 working days). If got accepted, then go for application of COC which this will take 10 workiing days as well. In total, 20 working days.

2- When you receive a update email about the COC from VISA, imediately reply their email asking them the request letter, because it may take long time to reply your email ( for me 2 weeks).

Hope it helps, and best of luck for you.

Rgds,
Tracy
