Supplementary Information for the 2012 Immigration Levels Plan

Following the tabling of the 2011 Annual Report to Parliament on Immigration on November 1, 2011, Citizenship and Immigration Canada released further details on its 2012 Immigration Levels Plan. Since the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act's coming into force, this is the first time CIC is including admissions targets along with planning ranges.

A planning range is an estimate of the number of people CIC expects to admit each year, taking into account the differences in applicants' behaviour both before applying and once they have received their visa (some applicants take longer than others to arrive in Canada from abroad after receiving their visa).

For each range, CIC also sets an admissions target. The work of CIC's visa processing network is based on the admissions target so that admissions fall within the planning range.

Please see below for CIC's immigration planning ranges and admissions targets for 2012.

2012 Plan Admissions Ranges

Immigrant Category Low High Admissions
Federal Skilled Workers 55,000 57,000 57,000

Dear all,
I applied under NOC 3131 on August'11 and my e-cas status is now ''In Progress''. However, recently i changed my old passport to MRP, so do my spouse. I have two questions:
1. I am wondering should i need to send them copies of our new passport? If so then should i need to attested same way that i did when i applied or?
2. Does this 'In Progess'' mean my application is still in Canada or came to local VO?
Looking forward to experts views.

Do you have reference of old passport in your MRP? If so, I think there is no need to send any information of that. I have also changed my hand written passport to MRP and informed them through case specific query, but they did not reply.
However, you may inform them through case specific inquery if you feel so.

Best,
Rakib.

Thanks a lot Rakib, for your quick reply. I haven't got any email or notification from my VO(london), is that mean my application didn't reach there yet? i got my 1st notification on 23rd Nov'11 and after a few days they took money from my credit card.

We would not mind if really could be within 19 months.....this is a statistics of last one year period. I have already passed 24 months from the date of initial application to CIC and 17 months+ from the full docs sent. If it is 19 months, we won't mind at all. I feel most of our Pre june friends are almost in the same boat.

Dear Toso,
If the only change in your passport, don't worry and hurry. You can send in your next step. Don't send anything until they require you to update. But you must let them know for some changes like marital status change, new born babies etc. Don't hurry, pls, wait to hear from VO.
