You should not be worried if your quota is not fulfilled by the time it reached them. Look for your NOC code n check online. They are always like that, unpredictable.mrahman said:Respected seniors,
I have applied for PR in May 2013 n got PER on July 31,2013 but still waiting for singapore acknowledgment whereas friends of mine applied after me n got acknowledgement. Should I be worried?
Regarding PCC, I have collected my PCC from UK which was issued on march 25, 2013...and currently im in BD, so would cic require another pcc from uk or the one i have right now will work as i'll not be visiting uk anymore.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for ur reply, plz be informed that I am already within the 300 cap as I got per from CIO, just waiting on acknowledgement from Singapore that they have received my file whereas friends of mine already received this about 2 months back but we applied in the same date. Regarding UK PCC if I reapply to them within 3 months from the date I first applied then the fees is lower or else it is the normal charge. And Scotland Yard is not responsible for my PCC, it's the UK ACRO.hhshumon said:You should not be worried if your quota is not fulfilled by the time it reached them. Your Scotland yard Police clearance (in fact any dated official letter to CIC) is valid for 12 months from the date of signing, that is, u must submit before 24th march 2014. CIC won't ask for updated PCC if u have already sumbmitted that. If u havent, just submit with all your supporting documents, asked, before that date. But they will ask from B'desh PCC fresh, when they start processing, regardless u have submitted or not.
Cheers
# just incase u need the PCC for any other purpose, go to Scotland yard website, and find the tab for applying for PCC. here you can re-order your police clearance for £10 for the 1st and £5 for each additional one, (they take 14 days to reissue one, on a newer date), give the delivery address to some of your friend's UK residing address, n request to courier it to you.
Thanx all...its exactly wat i was thinking..but confused....thanx for clearing my doubtsdhaka12 said:============================================================

It seems it might take another 5-6 months for them. What the SGVO does know one knows exactly, just wait everything's gonna be just fine, insallah.
Yes its UK ACRO, not the Scotland yard. Cheers

Dear all, I landed in Toronto on October 6. We started from Gulshan, Dhaka at 3 in the morning for the airport for the Turkish airline flight. It took only 15 minutes to reach the airport. The usual crowd at airport was missing. There was no queue as such at the check-in. We waited for a couple of minutes when the airlines official serving executive class called us for check-in. There was no problem with the weight as we were carrying less than the allocated weight. TK (Turkish Airlines) is offering 3 23-kg luggage plus a 7-kg hand luggage for each new immigrant passenger. I took seats from TK office in Gulshan-1 earlier and at the check-in they just issued boarding cards for Dhaka-Istanbul and Istanbul-Toronto flight. After check-in we waited outside the check-in area with our relatives. Then at the immigration, again there was no queue. We got in within two minutes. But at the checking-in before boarding there was a long queue as the flight was full with European and north American passengers. The on-board service was poor with unsmiling flight attendants. I had cough and fever and found it difficult to get a class of hot water.
At the Istanbul airport I felt like it was one kind of harassment for transit passengers in the name of security check. The American and Canadian passengers had to stand in a queue. They asked for our passports and wanted to see COPR. They also ask about from were the visa was issued, my profession, did i apply myself or through a lawyer etc. I was not sure whether they should ask such questions to a transit passengers. The official then took the passport and other papers to a nearby counter and put small stickers on the back of our passport, and asked us to go to the security areas. There the passengers had to go through a serious screening procedure - like opening your watches, belts and even shoes. It was a bit too much for us. Inside the transfer area no one was there to give any information. I found the officials and employees at Istanbul airport are generally unfriendly or can be called rude. (more to follow in Part-2)

At the transit area at Istanbul airport we again found another group of stony-faced officials who checked our passports and boarding card for Toronto flight, and let us in to the boarding area - felt like our ordeal is over for now. The in-flight service between Istanbul and Toronto was slightly better that that of our first leg but still without a smile. We landed at the Pearson airport in time. At the end of the boarding bridge two CBSA (or immigration) officials were checking the passports. They checked our ones and told us to go upstairs to the immigration areas. At the immigration area we found a staff maintaining the queue and giving information. She told us to go to the visitors queue and again there was no queue. She also showed us a counter which became free in a minute. It took only two/three minutes at the immigration. Here they look at the passport/visas/COPR and declaration form. The lady asked us about the amount of money we are carrying. She wrote down the figure on the declaration card and marked the whole card with highlighter. (Tip: your declaration card given on bard becomes a very important document until you come out of the airport). After immigration counter we were shown the room to go for the landing formalities. Again, there was no queue. A lady officer called us to her counter and asked for the documents. We handed our passports and COPR and a printed copy of the address we will be staying. She did not ask for any additional pictures as mentioned by one forum member. It took around 10 minutes to complete the formalities. (Tip: Taking a printed copy of the address and phone number is very useful. I got the info from a forum member). After the landing formalities we were told to go to another counter within the same room where we were given a bagful of information. The gentleman in the counter asked ask to talk to a lady in a kiosk outside the room. She gave us some more information. I told her that I heard that i can make the SIN card application at the airport. She told me that you can do it if you land in working days but our landing day was a Sunday. Up to this it went as smooth as silk. I did not keep the time but it did not take more that 20/25 minutes before going to the baggage collection. And we also noticed the difference between Istanbul airport and a Canadian airport. (Tip: During landing every time you ask for some information, first mention you are a new immigrant for landing). It will save you a lot of time. (More to follow in part-3)

After completing the immigration/landing formalities we went to collect our luggage. We found our baggage were already on the conveyor belt. One of the forum members gave me a two dollar coin that became very useful. You need two dollars to collect a trolley at the airport. After collecting the luggage, we were waiting for a cartoon and asked a porter about it. He showed us a C sign and said you can collect the cartoon from there. We took the cartoon and started to walk towards the exit route. A CBSA official saw our declaration card and directed us towards a door. Inside the room we found a long queue and it was not moving as one officer was spending a lot of time on one passenger. We found a lady officer spent around 10/15 minutes on a lady looked like of Chinese origin. We were praying to avoid the lady officer. But when our turn came the same lady officer became free to process our stuff. She took our declaration card and the goods accompanying list. She behaved completely different with us from what we saw earlier with the chinese lady. She started a good discussion with my daughter and spoke about her prospect in Canada as an architect. When she saw the good to follow list she asked us about the picture of the jewelry we just mentioned in the list. (One forum member mentioned in his post that when he showed the ornament picture the CBSA official reportedly told him that it was not necessary). Based on this comment I did not take any picture. The official then gave my daughter two pieces of papers, and asked her to write down the short description of the ornaments. We took a seat nearby and wrote down the description, and then came straight to the officer. She took our papers inside the office room, photocopied and stamped it and handed it over to us, and said you will not have any problem when you would bring ornaments in future. Though, we wanted to avoid her but we found her to be the most helpful officer we encountered in the whole airport. She did not ask us to open a single bag. If the cartoon were open, half of the food items might have been thrown away. At the end she even said sorry for taking so long as we were visibly tired after a long flight. We left the room after around 45 minutes with the documents given by the CBSA. My cousin and her husband were waiting outside. We loaded our luggage at their suv and headed for home. The documents we received from the airport we found 211 number was very useful to get information about the new immigrant.
