In my opinion dont take any risk by taking less fund as your entry could be denied. For a 2 member family you can easily take $10,000/ & for 3 member with a child $12500 which is legal. Balance amount you can take with u in cash as I never had any problem at the BD airport for taking more $. Actually they never checked. As far as I know they only check the people who r going with manpower visa.

2nd.

you can open an account in Canada through Scotia Bank, India branch. Though I am still talking with them regarding this I am unable to give u any specific advise at this moment.

3rd.

As far as I know showing bank statement with balance from bangladesh is not acceptable as POF. Those who r experienced by doing so may advise better.

4th..

I am working on it ....
U can open an RFCD account here and then get a Debit/credit card against your account. And can withdraw the amount from any airport . I am talking with a bank regarding this option.

So bro these r the option I know. Hope these may help u. If not pls ask for other experienced BD members advise.

I am absolutely aligned with the highlighted paragraph and it is my plan too. This is the easiest and feasible solution to me.

Dear Hoque Vai,
Bangladesh Bank may not carry full $5000 at a time.
u can endorse $2500 at a time and rest amount u cant carry in $ (so far i know). It will be wise to carry canadian dollar as one will be financially benefited by doing this.
Last month one my known tried to enter in canada with his spouse with $4000 but he could not; he came back to boston, then manage money and then have been got entry there.

I myself endorsed USD3,800 with cash and TC (Cash $2,000+TC 1,800) for one of my visits few month back. I haven't face any problem from SCB for that endorsement.

In terms of paragraph 1(ii), chapter 12 of Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions‐
2009, Vol‐1, ADs are allowed to release foreign exchange in the form of cash up to US$ 2000 at any one
instance out of travel entitlement to Bangladeshi national proceeding abroad. However, confusion
arises as to whether ADs can release balance of the entitlement in the form of cash in other currencies.
This is to clarify that ADs may release USD 2,000 in cash and the remainder in other freely convertible
currencies out of the prescribed entitlement i.e., US$ 5,000 for travel to countries other than SAARC
member countries and Myanmar.

Easy stuff....highest $2,000 through cash and remaining $3,000 through TC.

Could anyone clarify? If I show in net worth statement (PNW) 19000 CAD as my net asset and carry 17500 CAD for my 3 member family while landing, would create any problem?

Dont read me wrong. this is only my experience......
Brother I wrote I never faced this problem till now as they never checked mine. U can take CAD 5000/adult and 2500/child in cash. But if u take US$ then u r limited to US$2000 cash and balance in other currencies (EURO,CAD, Sing$ ....) or TC. Your total alotment is US$5000/year and you can conver the amount to the currency you want to take. This is what I know brother.
