:'(Hi Experts,

Is there is any other way apart from the EE pool and job bank, we can either get Job offer or PNP Nomination.

Because Job bank access to be given to employers and God only knows when CIC will provide access to employers and when we will be picked out from that pool.

This is really killing the time and many aspirants like me whose IELTS and other documents may expire which leads to be ineligible at last.

Can't we directly apply or approach to each province separately with their guidelines and respective documentation. Any views/news related to this...

Thanks and Regards,

Ashish. :'(

Inviting In-Demand, Skilled Immigrants to Canada
First round of Express Entry candidates invited to fill labour market needs and contribute to Canada’s economic growth
February 2, 2015 — Ottawa — Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander today announced that the first round of top-ranked candidates from Canada’s Express Entry system is already helping to fill demonstrated and verifiable gaps in Canada’s labour market.

On Saturday, January 31, 779 skilled workers, including professionals in natural and applied sciences, and industrial, electrical and construction trades, were invited to apply for permanent residency in Canada. Each of these candidates declared that they already have a valid job offer or provincial nomination.

Under Express Entry, skilled workers who want to apply to Canada’s key economic immigration programs are able to create an online profile and express their interest in coming to Canada permanently.

Candidates who are accepted into the pool are ranked according to various factors, including language proficiency, education and work experience. Each is a leading indicator of one’s likelihood of integrating fully and quickly into Canadian society and making an optimal contribution to the economy.

Canada will regularly invite the highest-ranking candidates from the pool to apply to immigrate. With most applications being processed in six months or less, candidates will be able to contribute to Canada’s economy and job market more quickly than ever before.

Quick facts

Express Entry will manage applications for three federal economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program and the Canadian Experience Class.
Provinces and territories will be able to use the Express Entry system to select a portion of candidates for their Provincial Nominee Programs.
Once candidates have been invited to apply for permanent residence, they will need to submit a complete application and will have to meet eligibility and admissibility requirements such as health and security checks. Candidates will have up to 60 days to submit their application online.
Quote

“Express Entry is already getting impressive results in its first month. The fact that everyone who was invited to apply for permanent residence in this round of invitations already has a valid job offer or provincial nomination shows that Express Entry is working to fill Canada’s existing labour market gaps.”

“With Express Entry, highly skilled candidates with a high chance of success in Canada are invited to apply for permanent residence, bringing them to Canada more quickly and easily than ever before.”

Chris Alexander, Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration Minister

This is from the CIC news. Unable to post link. Check the other thread titled "CIC notification..."

“Keep in mind that what we are working within, in terms of a ceiling, is the admissions target in the immigration plan. So the 180,000 for 2015 is the ceiling that we are working within,” stated a CIC spokesperson at a recent Law Society summit. “We expect that, certainly as of implementation and early days, it will take some time for that employer take-up to happen, so we expect there will be nominees from the province and so those will automatically be pulled from the pool. What we expect in the early days is that the department will be pulling those candidates with the highest scores, even though they don’t have job offers, because we need to be looking at meeting those admissions targets for the economic classes.’

Sometimes I don't believe what they say. They said their target is 180,000, but for the first draw they gave only 779 ITA

I am not sure what was the expectations from CIC for 1st draw. You should look at the CRS cut-off points and not numbers. If there are only 779 profiles with either a job offer or a pnp nominated, then what CIC can do about it?
They just wanted to clear off folks with job offers/nominees.

We should not forget that this program is as new for them as for us. Also, if they give ITA to say 50000 folks at one go, how will they process all applications within 6 months?

Always look at the both side of the coin..

I am not saying to select 50,000 applicant at a time. My expectation is, if their target is 50,000 applicant for next 6 month then the cut off mark should be depends on the (50,000/6)~8000 top applicant.

you get a federal PR, so you dont need to live in that province for long.
Having said that, most of the provinces require job offers witihn that province and/or education/experience there to even be eligible for PNPs.
Average processing times vary for each province, the minimum being atleast 4 - 16 weeks.
You are wrong here!! If you get selected by PNP , even though you are getting a PR through CIC you need to stick to that province at least till you become a citizen (They expect you to stay there during your whole stay in Canada but after obtaining citizenship at least you do not have any sort of documentation issues).

You can try your luck by changing provinces but during PR card renewal mostly you will land in trouble and you will be risking your whole PR status and future..They do not sponsor you to just get the PR and go and contribute in some other province. This is the main difference b/w getting a direct federal skilled worker visa and PNP sponsored skilled worker visa..there are various threads in this forum which discuss this.

Congratulations to all those who got ITA's!!!!!

Really glad with the ITA's outcome. As someone already predicted (@SharpC), the first cutoff was expected to be high.
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t264054.0.html

Let's hope the remaining cutoff also goes as per what @SharpC predicted (of course with slight modifications)!!!

Good luck with ITA submissions!
For others in the 400+ range, I am very optimistic that we shall receive our ITA's in coming months as well! Fingers crossed. In the meantime we can start working on:
1) Job search and having our resumes Canada ready.
2) working on the documentation required for ITA (collecting employment references etc.)
3) Keeping an eye on province PNP programs (few provinces are yet to declare their EE criteria while others like BC have linked it to having a valid job offer).

Cheers!

Please help with options?

Hi,

I submitted my Federal Skilled Worker application on December 2014, but I think that it will be returned due to using a debit card instead of a credit card for fee payment and therefore I'm considering to apply for Express Entry.

I did the Express Entry preliminary assessment and it said that I was eligible.

What happens if I apply for EE whilst my application still has not been officially rejected by CIO?

I'm currently working in Canada on a skilled job on an open work permit exempt of LMIA due to an international mobility program. Will this job still count for 600 points even though I don't have an LMIA?

My work permit will expire at the end of April, what options I have to continue working? I cannot extend my permit per se, because it was a Working Holiday visa which cannot be renewed.

Thanks!

Apply in Express Entry.
Without LMIA you will not get the extra 600 points.
