CONGRATULATIONS! PPR couldn't happen to a more deserving person, IMHO.

May all good things be yours.

Congrats! Well-deserved, especially for someone who has helped so many others. I'm still waiting to do my landing, three more weeks to go. It's been a long 2.5 months just staring at my CoPR. I can't wait until it's all over!

I believe it's like that for most of the people - I felt the same - after years of struggle through work permits, CIC changes and the time pressure, at the end you feel like "finally" :D

But now it's done and we can all breath out and relax! Congrats again and happy landing! We just got our PR card today and it feels really great :)

Probably one among the very last to get to PPR in the April batch...As the saying goes better late than never. ;D Had to dig around a while to find this thread which I used to follow up until a while ago...Thanks everyone for all the help. For all other Aprilers still waiting (doubt if there would be that many) - Hang in there...you will get the good news soon. Details in my signature below.

Do you know why you wait 2months from decision made to passport request?

I thought you were good to go once you got your COPR. Do you need some other clearance to land?

Yes. Just pure bad luck! As per my gcms notes (which i applied for only by end of September) they had sent my PPR on Sep 15, which I didn't receive probably due to some system error. After about 3 weeks of waiting and seeing people who got DM after me being issued PPR left right and center, I started to freak out. Despite me calling CIC multiple times, i was turned down on requests to check my application since I had not crossed the 6 month mark from AOR at that point. I applied for gcms and had to wait till it showed up (which so happened was exactly the day that signaled the end of 6 months from AOR) and called CIC again who then said they will reissue the PPR. All this delay took 2 months from DM!

Nope, once you get the CoPR you can do your landing. I was waiting because when I got my PPR there was an 85 day wait for the pr card. I knew I was traveling outside of Canada within that 85 day time period. So, I decided to just wait until I returned to do the landing.
I'm from a visa exempt country, but didn't want to take the chance that there might be a problem when I returned without a pr card. If I was visiting some place like Seattle right by the boarder, then it wouldn't have been a big deal to find a private car to drive me accross the border if I had an issue. Just didn't want to take a chance.

Got PPR yesterday, today I sent a request to change a visa office for my present country of residency.
