Hi, did you check with your panel physician to see when the medical results were sent to CIC?

Don't freak out yet. Mine took almost 2 months to show up. First, contact the doctor's office where you had the exam and confirm the date they sent in your tests. After getting that you can contact the medical branch in Ottawa, here's their number 1-888-242-2100. I got this number from the doctor's office I went to because they said after 2 months if you don't have results you can call.
As for the waiting time we don't know because it's a new system. I think the CIC agent was just parroting what the CIC website says, which is that the EE is too new of a system to know the average time so the only average they can give is based on the old system. That number is around 18 months.
Good luck with everything!

Hi, AshesNdust, my medical exam was sent to CIC on May 5th and the result hasn't shown up yet. When you called the medical branch in Ottawa, did they check it for you and then update the result? How come some applicants' ME results get passed immediately and some tarry for so long? I was guessing maybe it's the VO who delayed the update not the medical branch? My ECAS changed to "in process" on June 19 and it'd be really strange if my ME result was indeed not out yet.

BTW,apart from the ME result, is everything else going at a normal speed in your case, AshesNdust? Mine is. BC in progress, ECAS changed to in process a few days ago. ME is the only thing that worries me. Thank you very much for sharing!

I ended up not having to call because right after I had gotten the send in date from my doctor, I got an update from the CIC that my medical passed. If your exam wasn't sent in un May 5th then it's way too early to check about it. A poster just said when they called, they were told to wait 6 months. So, it looks like they are now requiring people to wait until the upper time limit is reached.
Time wise, it's not really strange at all. My test was sent in April 9th, but I didn't get updated until May 28th. That day my BG check was also switched to In Progress. Since then, I have had no further updates to my profile. I haven't gotten anymore requests for for addition documents at all. I was expecting them to ask for my actual LMIA, ECA, or langauge paper, but so far they haven't. I did provide them with all the reference numbers and while I know the CIC site says they only ask for them for extra verifcation, I sort of thought I'd get requests for them.
I think the general rule of thumb that the CIC is going by, is that they said the process can take up to 6 months so until you hit that number they don't want to bother with looking into people's applications. Until you go over that number, they are within the normal time period and and haven't missed a deadline. So, that interested or concerned until the deadline is missed.
I have no idea why some people' applications move faster than others. I'm single, with a LMIA, currently working in Canada, have a college degree, from North America, no criminal record, and have proof of funds. You'd think my application would be fairly simple and just fly through. However, it's taking longer than some people with families, no job offers, not in Canada, and from countries not in North America. Who knows why? I just have to be patient and just remember, there's a process that I need to go through and it's a privilege not a right for me to get PR. I'm just trying the not get too worried and keep hoping for the best!

I have called them and they told me that waiting time is 6 month. Regarding the medical they said it will take might take more than three month to be added to my file . The agent also refused to take my application number or do any check on my case because it didn't pass the six months .

My medical was sent electronically from the doctor on the 23 of April.

It's very weird because some people applied after me and sent their medical after me and they got updates. I have literally nothing  :( :( :(

I think we have similar cases. I looked at your timeline and you show IELTS request and Medical Request, did they request these documents from you ?? or did you submit them with the application. In addition let's keep in touch if you have any update .

Let me know!

Thank you for your detailed explanation. I guess most likely, it's the VOs who are making so much difference on the processing time. Maybe some are just more efficient than others. My BC is "in progress" since day one, which has got my hopes up a bit. Now I know there is no set pattern or sure sign at all with CIC, so I'll try to stay cool just as you do. Let's hope for the best!
