Most important part is this, they havent kept my old passport , so i have 29 days to wait , i will wait for 20 to 25 days .
in sha Allah and hopefully by then it will be there to collect , or God forbid if it does not i will send them the old one.

Honestly, I don't get it. Your visa approved based on your OLD passport, number, date of issue and expiry. Now you plan to send them a NEW passport with different number, date of issue and expiry? Don't you that might cause confusion/delay?

P.S. I know visa approved is not based on passport but on overall application. However, they already have a scanned copy of your passport (if you applied online), so they already seen your passport, virtually.

Adil,

Knowing that you are a student visa applicant, you must be significantly younger than me. Unfortunately, we don't know each other personally, otherwise i would have done some thing to you, like may be a slap on the back of your head with as stronger words as i could use to make you realize what a fool you are trying to make of yourself.

If you want to risk your visa by may be getting a new passport (which has remote chances of occurence), then be my guest. After all it is you who would suffer the consequences.

30 days is the upper limit. I don't know of any one who would have waited that long to submit passports.

CIC Islamabad doesn't have a clue about many things. They don't follow things by the book. I learned this from personal experience over the last six months. Even if there is nothing wrong by book about sending passport after say 25 days (assuming you get a new one, and embassy is okay with new number, expiry etc.), they can still just delay your visa thinking you are in no hurry. And if you are on a timeline for the start of your classes, you are definitely going to be in some trouble owning to that.

I am still surprised how and what on earth could drive you to make such illogical decisions.

we have an example of T$ .
i really respect him and he is a genuine person, i followed him and applied online , i consulted him at every step , before this step i consulted him too.
he too submitted his passport 2 weeks later after the CIC mail and that too a new one , not the one he showed them at the time of visa aplication .
there is nothing wrong by delaying , it totally makes sense , my passport expires on 18-05-2015 , where as they might be giving me visa for atleast 2 years or max 2 and a half, so y on the earth i take visa upto May 2015, i have plenty of time left for 4 Sept.
gora's are sensible men, do whatever but at the same time prove them logically. i will send them the photocopy of old passport.
if they are saying that your passport must be valid till your expected stay or duration in canada , so there is/must be a logic/reason behind this ...

Go Canada and renew from there. Mine also expires in 2015 so I went to the passport office to renew mine and they didn't. They said my passport should have 6 or less months to expire before they can renew it. I talked to multiple agents outside the passport office and they all told me that passport is valid and it won't be renewed. I mean all agents want is money but they said that it can't be renewed now.

They also told me that because of the old management there is a long list for already submitted applications to be processed and the new head or whatever has ordered to clear all previous applications first before processing the new ones. And was also told that its really difficult to get passport now because they might quote on quote have that "machines are not working again and no passport for 6 months again", maybe they might say this to avoid complaints.

I am not sure how well aware others are about Pakistan. Let me spell this out once again clearly for you.

"There is no way to get a passport in pakistan these days in such a short time frame".

If you have doubts, check with any passport office (khi, lhr, isb). Read about passport stories these days in news. You will get a clear picture instead of wasting time and money to an agent with zero outcome.

There are no issues with repplying for extension latter during your stay. Just do it well in advance.

P.S. If it helps to know, i am a significantly experienced software professional and i know quite many people with existing visas on their passports who cannot go to another country these days because their passports expired and they couldn't get those renewed. Don't risk your visa stamping at this stage. Embassy would be pretty used to of people submitting passports quickly.

You should visit the passport office yourself as just talk to agents whats happening there.

I already did (got passports for my family in dec 2012) and i know of what's happening to others now. I am not sure what your point is. Your story just confirms what i said. "It is virtually impossible to get a passport these days in Pakistan in a limited time frame". Are you implying something else?

thanx for your reply dear muchobliged, i went to the passport office and i am all done with everything,i have token now. you are right they did ask me , i simply replied that embassy is giving me visa (in sha Allah) for 2 and a half year and my passport is going to expire in 1 and a half year , they said OK. you are clear . i dont know much about agents , i have some1 in passport office, i went with him , all goes very smoothly , like blink of an eye , ist counter , 2nd counter 3rd counter, 4th counter and then Assistant Director.
issuing authority is AD , so if he signs , u r done and ur case is now in Islamabad .
hopefully everything is going to be smooth , just like the renewal process in sha Allah , i have already gave my token no to some1 in Islamabad , so hope for the best

Hi,
your profile is similar to mine. but the difference is i am an undergraduate student with Diploma in Electronics, applied for B.Engineering(Electrical & computer) At dalhousie university, same statement 42K +Evaluation+father's 38 year Service Provident Funds. But problem is I don't have any experience and 1.5 year gap.
anyway i am gonna apply in a couple of weeks. let see what happen.

if every thing goes smoothly , like as mine, as i have applied on 31st of May , and got passport request on 19th of june , or if i had delievered the passport yesterday , i would have got my passport a week later , so u can say total of 26 to 27 days. or make it a month .
so keep this thing in mind brother. if u want any any kind of help i am here . just do let me know

well u r right in ur point adil just send ur both passports with fedex and a letter mentioning that u recently renewed ur passport it will not make any prob. for u as ur application and uci no. will be mentioned o the letter and if u have attached both passports they will not make prob.

Bs yaar University waly Salon nay acceptance he kafi late issue kia tha is leay mery paas documents tayr karny k leay time kafi short tha. is leay documents tyar kr raha hun like police clearance, family registration etc.

there is no need of family registration buddy ?...
can u tell in detail . if you are in karachi , u can get police character certifacte in max 3 to 4 days...
