In the new AOS document checklist, there is a requirement that says "Business license, if applicable". I work as a software developer at the Alberta Energy Regulator. How would I know if I need the business license?

Not an official answer but from what I’ve heard business license is not mandatory for all businesses, I guess for only small ones, but I could be wrong. In my case the company is half owned by Alberta government itself so it wouldn’t make sense for them to need a business license, at least that’s my thought process. What’s your take on this?
