Hi there! I'm a TFW giving birth on March. My fiance and I have agreed upon that I will stop working on January so I can rest and prepare for the baby. We are planningto get married on May. I'm having doubts about my Alberta Health though because my employer told me that there might be complications when I give birth because by then, I would be unemployed so my Alberta Health might not cover me during my delivery. Does anyone know if this is true? We don't wanna rush our marriage that's why we planned to do it on May when we're a bit settled up. But if there are no other options, we might just do it. Please advise me so. Thank you so much....

when is the expiry date of your work permit? Coz your coverage is depend on the validity of your work permit.

Like me, I gave birth last july and my work permit will expire this Nov. that is why my coverage is up to that date only.

All the best for you and your up coming baby.

My work permit expires on November 2011. My coverage won't be affected even if I resign on January? Thank you so much lynnard.... How's your job hunting by the way? i hope you could find work soon.
