Yep, he can as long as it's good for a year and he has some sort of bill or ID that links him to a Canadian residence. I just got mine reinstated this past Tuesday and I have a visitor record that is good until December 31, 2013.

I didn't think that it would happen, but sure enough I got 6 months of insurance and my husband is going to call blue cross next week. I too only have a visitor record. I can't work or go to school, but I can get sick now, so I guess that's something.

You can get it if your spouse is a Canadian citizen or PR too. But I know some people have had issues doing that depending on where they go to get the insurance.

Hello guys,

I have question I hope that you can help... my wife is pregnant right now in her 6 month, I'm Canadian citizen works in Dubai, I want her to do the delivery in Calgary where I came from, we didn't apply yet for her PR, I'm wondering do my health care card cover her delivery charges or I have to pay that, I am applying for her visiting visa tomorrow but I need to know if she'll be covered or not.
I tried to contact Alberta health care but due to time difference I wasn't able to do that so if you have any info that's would be very helpful..

thanks all
