Me and my spouse became PR in 2022 and worked in Canada for a year. We moved to US in 2023 for personal reasons and planning to move back next year in 2025. we recently had a baby which is US citizen, and we will need to sponsor him once we move to Canada. We are planning to come to Calgary, Alberta.

I have researched past threads and here is my understanding

1. When we move at port of entry, we should ask officer to issue Visitor Record for the kid.
2. Take this record and go apply for AHCIP coverage for kid as parents has valid status in Alberta and kid has "valid Canada entry document" (https://www.alberta.ca/ahcip-temporary-residents)

This will cover us while PR sponsorship application for kid is in progress.

Please confirm if understanding is correct and you went through similar experience.

At the moment yes but you’ll have to look closer to move date.
