Does this mean I shouldn't apply to Alberta's nomination program ? I graduated and lost my student status 2 yrs ago. Any advise would be greatly appreciated

They asked for you VISA. Scan you visa page and send. It doesn't need to be your student visa. You Just need to prove that you are residing legally into that country. If you reside into any other country other than your own country, you must be residing there legally and this rules is same for most applicable visa application around the world.
 
thank you for the reply, sorry I wasn't clear, I had a student visa but I lost it (currently out of status) , some provinces don't ask for proof, some others ask for proof of entering with a visa but Alberta is asking for current legal status. :o

You don't have a work permit?
 
That's what I thought you were trying to imply. I advise you should consult an immigration lawyer instead.
