Airport Kiosk query

Hi all,

I have completed my PR landing formalities and planning to move to canada sometime next week for good.
At the kiosk there is a question called "Country of residence". Since I moving to canada for good, should I mention it as canada instead of U.S.? Not sure if it matters but just wanted to check.

You should probably enter your current country of residence, as you have not actually taken up residence in Canada yet. You are entering as a "Settler".

Agree with zardoz. My wife did a soft landing like you and on her subsequent landing as settler trip, still put UK. We had her pr card and scanned that in the kiosk instead of her passport, went fine

I doubt it matters too much and is easily explained to the CBSA agent.

Don't forget this is your one and only chance to do your 'goods accompanying / goods to follow' lists for Canadian customs.

Thankyou @Hurlabrick ... i got the gtf and gta list stamped during my soft landing.. after that i have been to Canada multiple times and each time have asked the officer to cross some items from the goods to follow list.. my husband is already there..

Next time i go will be for good/final move.. and will have all the items crossed from gtf list.. and also will mention U.S as my country/ place of residence for the next trip..
