Hello all,
I am a seafarer for about 10 years and worked as a Receptionist/Guest Services Agent for more than 8 years. The last time I was onboard was Dec 2018. My last contract was ended soon because I got pregnant. From Dec 2018 till now I decided not to be back onboard to focus on my baby.
My question is am I qualified to apply for AIPP even I am unemployed for almost 2 years?
My last contract is not full 1 year because seafarer are allowed to be onboard 8-9 months only but computing my working hours I have completed my 1560 hrs duty because we work 9hrs a day no day off. Will this be valid?
Thank you in advance for your answers.

Yes you are qualified. But during ur immigration process for aipp you have to give proof of why you were not working

would also add that very few AIPP are being processed because unemployment is much higher so there is a push for employers to hire those already in Canada.

Do you live and work in Alberta or are you outside of Canada? If outside of Canada, you are only eligible for the Express Entry stream. Alberta has cut its immigration by 30%, have added a hundred more NOCs to the ineligible list, and are prioritizing those who study and work in Alberta.
