Hello Everyone,

I’m asking this question for a friend of mine.

His Situation -

He has 1 year NOC B experience combined from two different employers in Nova Scotia.

The question is can he apply for AIP (AISP/AHSP) if he starts working for an employer who is already AIP desginated. For example, if he gets a NOC C level job with a designated employer, would he able to apply for AIP right away if employer is willing to do so? or he’ll have to work for another year with the new employer to be eligible for AIP?

I hope you guys could help on this one.

Thank you! :)

Did he study in Atlantic Canada. If not, his past experience needs to match NOC C. If he doesn’t have NOC C experience then he needs that first.

  • The job offer must be at the same skill level as, or higher than, the work experience that qualified you for the job (refer to the table below), unless you’re an international graduate from a recognized post-secondary institution in Atlantic Canada.
    • For certain health care sector jobs, you don’t need to have a job offer at the same skill level as, or higher than, the qualifying work experience.
      • Work experience in NOC 3233 (practical nurses) and NOC 3012 (registered nurses) can be used as qualifying work experience if you have a job offer in NOC 3413 (nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates) or NOC 4412 (home health care workers).
  • NOC level job offer and qualifying work experience requirement
NOC level job offerWork experience requirement
    NOC 0NOC 0, A, B, C
    NOC ANOC A, B, C
    NOC BNOC B, C
    NOC CNOC C

Thank you so much for the answer. I really appreciate it. One more thing if could help me on, is it important to have the same NOC Code with the new desginated employer as well? He has NOC B skill level experience, does he need to find the same NOC code job or would he be fine with any NOC B or higher skill level job with a desginated employer?

As it states, it is skill level not NOC code. He needs a NOC B designated employer job offer.
