I am applying for AINP's family streams which requires me and my wife to be of 21 years of age. My wife is not 21 years of age yet, can only I apply or should i wait for her to become 21 because she will be 21 in 3 months but she will not be able to join me for first 2 year after the immigration is complete. Is it must that if you have a wife you have to apply for her too? What if I only apply for my self and then i apply for her when my process is complete.

Wait the 3 months. AINP family stream takes a long time so she will probably be ready to go with you when you get your PR. Even if she is not, she can come with you and land and go back and still keep her PR even though she is outside Canada for up to 3 more years.

Thank you for your help but my reason to ask this question was to make sure that can i apply without my wife. If there is some problem with her case. ASK JUST TO KNOW.

I don't think it would be a problem to apply without your wife. You can list her as non-accompanying at this time. She will still have to have a medical. You can sponsor her later.

That's a tricky one. Just email to AINP and they reply within 3-5 working days. Alternately you can call them. But its better to have both so that you get a quick reply on phone and keep the email reply for your records/reference.

Please keep in mind that if the application is found incomplete it will be returned back and you will lose your place in the queue. So just do all the research before you submit your application.

Goodluck.

This is the reply I got from AINP.

Dear sherry,

The Candidate and their spouse/common-law partner must both be between 21 and 45 at the time of application.

As a candidate, you may or may not choose to include your spouse/common-law partner as an accompanying dependent on your application for permanent residence. However, both you and your spouse/common-law partner must meet the age criteria (and language criteria) of the AINP under the Family Stream regardless of whether or not the spouse/common-law partner is accompanying the candidate to Canada. If you have a spouse/common-law partner, he/she will be assessed with the application and he/she must meet any required criteria.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact a representative at the following number.

She will be 21 in 3 months so you can apply after she becomes 21. no big deal about this. just matter for 3 months.
