Hi Ofonzo,USMA

Please advise, Did you carry any photos to be given to the immigration officer for PR cards?

Thanks & Regards
RKNBI

No additional photos are required. The photos Canadian immigration will use for the PR card is the one on the confirmation of permanent residence.

Hi all, hope things are going well at your end. Sorry for being away from this post as was busy with settle.

By gods graces, it's going good in Calgary and manage to get transfer from previous location. Healthcard, driving license hazzles almost ended...

How things r going at your end.? Update us. Merry Christmas holidays to all.

Hi folks, i also apologise for long absense, i m at edmonton, started a survival job and in search of professional job, PR cards received, driving license got and also bought a vehicle, life is going better day by day' also thinking about to get admission in masters of engg. its a little bit difficult to enter in market of engineering job for a new comer but not impossible, one of my friend landed at same days but at Calgary has got engg. job after a struggle of 03 months. i could not give sufficient time due to busy in survival job, also i lost most of the time at bus stops when i had no driving license and vehicle, here life without driving license and vehicle is like hell, edmonton transport system requires a 1.5 hrs time for a 15 minutes your own drive. but it depends on your route. If you have any specific questions please ask i will answer.
Happy New Year to all

Happy new year to everyone,

I believe that this year holds great promise for each and everyone of us. Just keep believing.

I am sorry I have been away from the forum for a while. I am still working on a transfer so I am in Nigeria at present but I have also taken the liberty to get my Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (Which i did in December) and I am working on sitting for the fundamentals of engineering exam required by APEGGA for registration. This exam is required because I did my degree outside of Canada, USA and Europe.

USMA, Please share with us in greater detail how your friend got the engineering job and what lessons we can learn from it. I wish you all the best.

All, Please provide update on your status/progress.

Happy New Year again.

Hello folks,

How are you all doing? I trust good. Sorry for the long silence. As usual a man has got to make a living, I am still in Nigeria. I was back in Calgary this past month to seat for the Fundamentals of Engineerng (FE) with is a prerequisite for Engineering licensing/Registration by APEGA in Alberta. Glad to inform the house that I passed the FE Mechanical Exam.

My academic credentials were reviewed/evaluated by APEGA and I was advised to sit for the FE Exam and the National Professional Practice Exam. A Foreign degree holder is required to do the FE exams if his/her degreee is not from either Canada, USA, Europe or Japan/Korea.

You can access the APEGA website using www.APEGA.ca . To register for the FE exam, you must have pre-qualification done by APEGA who forward your particulars ( Name, degree details) to the exam provider NCEES. You can access NCEES via this link http://ncees.org/supplemental-pages/my-ncees/.

Please let me know if you need any assistance during this process. I would be very glad to help.

Stay Blessed
