Can someone please explain the requirements for the POF? I thought it was suppose to be $10,000 for principal applicant and $2,000 for each dependant? but the cic website is giving me something different. checkout the website below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

The amount of money you need to support your family is set by the size of your family. We update these amounts every year.

Number of
Family Members Funds Required
(in Canadian dollars)
1 $11,115
2 $13,837
3 $17,011
4 $20,654
5 $23,425
6 $26,419
7 or more $29,414

Can someone please throw more light on this?

Bukonla, I agree with you that a while back CIC expected $10k for the Principal and 2 k per dependent ( it appears to be the rule of thumb i.e for a family of 3, using rule of thumb is $14k vs $17k). The immigration officer would be guided by the details in the link you have shared if he decides to see your proof of funds. In the example of family of three, it would be $17k. Only in few cases do the request to see the POF.
When do you land? Hope this helps

Hi OFONZO,USMA.
How did you apply for PR cards what is the time line. What about photos?

Please revert
Thanks & Regards
RKNBI

RKBNi,
Congratulations on the PR Visas. It's been a long wait and it's worth it. If the VO has omitted any Confirmation of Permanent Resident (CoPR) forms, refer back to the VO. The COPR is required to be filled and processed at your point of entry into Canada. Your PR card is processed from the details in your COPR and sent to the address you provide at landing.

congrats buddy.

Khan78,

Why London CHC is been so sluggish. I was requested for additional documents in May which I have provided in June but no progress since then.

Its quite annoying, atleast they should expedite the case of FSW backlog applications.

Thanks Ofonzo, I did get the COPR along with the Passport with visa inserted. Have you received your PR cards. ?Are you still in Canada or back to Nigeria ?

Best Regards
Ramesh

RKNBI,

I am back in Nigeria, exploring the option of an internal transfer to Calgary office. I am told my PR cards arrived last week, so a friend should pick them for me during the week.it has taken about 70days from landing for PR cards to be processed.

ofonzo,
Many thanks for your quick response . Please elaborate you mean to collect the pr cards from where? It is not supposed to be delivered to your address you when you give the immigration officer while landing..
