Hi Khan,

Congrats on getting the OWP letter. They are issuing it to many people these days, so that you can come to Canada and work while they process your application. I would suggest you apply for it and come on over.

Thanks

Khan78,

I also received same letter as yours from ainp today! Cheers to us!

I believe we all should have gotten this OWP invitation letter from AINP. I got the same email. I think we need to look at this in the light of our individual applications. My visa office, Accra, seems to have a good processing rate for PNP. PPR are usually received 3-5 months after MR due to the number of PNP applicants in that VO. So I may not be applying for the work permit. For people whose VO has communicated long processing times, this is an option at least to be in Canada in a short time.
Everyone should access his individual position.

Dear Friends,
I also received the OWP email,
Given the new processing times which has gone by one month that is New delhi , I was wandering how to they calculate the processing times. Do they start counting from the time it is received in CIO Nova Scotia or when it is received in the visa office (New Delhi).

Please advise if you have any answers.
It will be highly appreciated.

Thanks & With Best Regards

Dears,
I also have recieved the open work permit email.
I am going to apply for it since my VO (Ankara) seems to be taking a lot of time to send MR.
Does anyone know how long it will take to issue this letter?

Hi RKNB,

They calculate the processing times based on a complete application package, i.e. from the time your file reaches them. Do not fret too much over what you see, just apply for the OWP and come to canada. I can understand the anxiety, I've been waiting for 6 years now like other 'FSW Backlog' applicants, some of whom are now 'PNP applicants'. Just keep your fingers crossed and hope they pick up your file soon. They are issuing WP for certain applicants because of the labor market demand here, and so that they can process your application simultaneously.

Thanks

Hi guys,
I have got same email from AINP regarding an early issuance of work permit but not sure how long is it going to take to get work permit. it seems this will be third waiting process for us. Firstly initial federal skill class application and then FSW backlog application and then this work permit. I think they want to give us punishment for choosing Canada for immigration. I am really appalled and saddened and perhaps not going to respond on their offer and would rather stick to my FSW backlog application.

and also bear in mind guys the period you will spend on work permit will not be count towards you final citizenship application as they will only count the time spend you in Canada on permanent residency status. Please correct me if am wrong on this assumption.

Every 2 days that you spend in Canada on work permit visa will count 1 day for your final citizenship application.

How are processing times calculated?

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) calculates processing times from the day CIC receives an application to the day it makes a decision on the application.

When estimating how long you will wait to receive a temporary visa, you must also take into account up to 10 days of transit or delivery time on top of CIC's processing time. The time your application will spend travelling to and from CIC will vary depending on where you live.

Had send all originals to them for vefication so let see how fast they can move my file... this seems like last stage of proces...

I also received WPO, but seems like i will wait for last moment... how it affects our PR process if we say yes... i think there is no harm in saying yes... atleast we have option open... we dont know what MR Canada utter tomm. and again we may be back on square...

just see how it affects our PR application... if no harm then nothing wrong to appear for WP...

regards
