I got my file number recently.
Is there a way I can track my process?

You can link your application with your CIC account. You need to have your file number and other information which is required to link the application.

I have attempted at linking at cic but it kept on saying it could not find it.
Is file number and application number different things?

Hi,
There's an option where you have to provide your City/Town of birth and Country, and your passport information like passport number and the date of issue & expiry. You either have to provide City/ Town of birth+ Country Or passport information like issue date, expiry & passport number. Try this if it works for you or not.
