Hi Everyone,

I’m currently working in AB under 0911 skill 0 management occupations , my close work permit will be expired on Dec 3, 2014.
I applied AINP Employer-Driven Skilled Worker Category in Dec, 2013 and expect to get nominated letter in June,2014 according to the current timeline.
Then after I get Acknowledgment of Receipt letter/e-mail has been sent by the Centralized Intake Office (CIO),
Can I apply for open work permit?
Or should I still have to apply LMO and close work permit since it is Employer driven?
According to what I found on line, they did not mention that Employer-Driven Skilled Worker category can not apply.

Appreciation for all your time and response.

Once you get AOR from CIC you'll be eligible for 1 or 2 years open work permit.

Hi Akapoor, Thank you very much for your reply.
Even it is under Employer-Driven Skilled Worker category?
Do you know anybody did it already or have you seen any documents to support it?
If I’m eligible for apply open work permit, then no need apply LMO,right?
I wrote to Visa office already but no reply yet.
Thank you very much for your time again.

Yes, no worries. Once you have the AOR from CIC no matter which category you'll be eligible for 1 or 2Yrs of Open work permit. And you can apply 4 months before your status expires in the country

Is this option open for spouse too?
I have received my AOR from cic, I was wondering if the spouse can change her working visa to an open working visa?

Hi Akapoor, thank you very much for your reply again.

As it is required in the policy:
have valid status on a WP that is due to expire within 4 months.
My close work permit will be expired on Feb 13, 2015, does that mean the earliest date I can apply for bridge open work permit is Nov 13,2014(Within 4 month) ?
But my working visa will be expired on Dec 3rd, 2014.
Means I will only have 20 days to have the working permit and Visa ready.
Do I have enough time or can I somehow can apply it earlier?

Thank you very much!

Let us know if you get one. Apparently, CIC rejects BOWP applications, if your nomination certificate has any employer info on it..

There is written on mine AINP certificate:
1 st name of employer: blablablabla
2 nd occupation: blablabla and NOC
3 th restriction on employment: NO

Can i apply for Open WP?

ANY AINP EMPLOYER DRIVEN APPLICANT GOT REJECTION FOR BOWP??

My husband got rejected applying for a BOWP. We were informed that AINP cert is not enough but a PER from PR application should be attached. We were also advised that what's applicable to AINP cert holder is a nonLMIA extension application.

Can u help us identify if the 1st AOR we received is already the PER from PR application?

Hi

I got my AINP approval on November (under employer driven- level C) and I added my wife after i got the approval. Then we applied together for PR on November 2014. We both were working under closed work permit. I applied open work permit for my wife on Feb 18, 2015 as her closed work permit was expiring on March 13, 2015. My friend told me about the pilot program for spouses and thats y i applied for her. But now my work permit expired on April 1, 2015 and i applied for a new one under LMIA exempt. So my question is does this affect my wife's work permit as i am on implied status?? It will be great if somebody can help me out with this. We just received our file number and medical last week....... Thank you...
