Hi,
Greetings!

For quite a long time, I knew that, for AINP, the Employer driven-International Graduate category is the best one for those, who have their education in Alberta. This category demands that an applicant must have an employment offer and the employment offer is permanent, fulltime and also needs to meet specific NOCs. During the processing, if the applicant looses the job, the application will be on jeopardy.

Very recently, I have come to know that the AINP stream has a major positive change. A new category named Post Graduate Category has been created and it is in effect since late last month. As per my understanding, under this category, someone with a valid post graduate work permit (at the time of application) and a full time job (not necessarily permanent, with any NOC) is an eligible candidate for AINP. The positive outcome of the federal PR application will be independent of employment situation at the time the PR visa will be issued.

Is there any other caveats in the Post Graduate Category of AINP? Am I missing anything?

So, the post graduate category seems to be more flexible than Employer Driven - International Graduate category. I am thinking of reapplying (I am a "forgotten buffalo to Ottawa transferred" applicant :( ) for PR and thinking that post graduate category of AINP is the best option for me.

Please share your opinion comparing these two categories of AINP.

Thanks a lot.

I am holding PGWP and already CEC applicant.

I also applied to Strategic Recruitment Stream - Post-Graduate Worker Category since my CEC application is not 100% promising (my employer refused to provide "proper" job description and I use a reference letter from coworker, blah blah situation)

As far as I know, there is no requirement of job reference letter, work experience or I can quit my current job anytime (last one, I am not sure, please advise anyone please!)

I submit my application to Edmonton on 26th of September.

I got a phone call two days ago. An officer asked me about status my CEC application. I believe my nomination is on the way.

I could have been already PR if Albertan gov did this earlier! Now they just messed up my mind. But better than nothing, I guess?

Good luck guys!! :)

Hey, I applied under Strategic Recruitment Stream-Post-Graduate Worker Category, i got my file number Sept 25 before AINP change the rule that applicant must have studied in Alberta. I already applied under CEC still waiting for AOR, i would appreciate if you can share the details regarding the progress of your application. thanks i will PM you

Can anyone post their AINP nomination timeline? How long did it take for a nomination under the new Post graduate worker category?

Does anyone is applying/has applied under the AINP? Please share your experience and how long you waited or have been waiting to get nominated. Thanks.
