The Alberta government has all the right to adjust its priority when comes to the AINP. In the end, nobody forces anybody to sacrifice in order to apply for immigration. This is solely personal decision and should prepare that the application may be denied.
Who said Alberta Govt has all rights to take back their words? For that matter no govt has that right.
Do you understand the difference between a business organization and a govt? If you do, then you will understand what blunder Alberta has done.

Apperenty lot of people think that AINP is for IT professional working in USA under H1B. Please visit the AINP web site and see the scope of this program. You will see number of streams and catagories under which one can be nominatted by AINP. Again you will also see hundred NOCs accepted by this program. Also remember that the projected labor requirement was for all occupations not for IT only.

Let's see this example - A person need to develope a big town he post a notice that he will need thousands of people that includes architect, carpenters, plumber, painters, doctors, gardener ... etc. After a period of time the person says that he no longer needs new carpenters as he have recieved many applications from carpenters and have already filled in the shortage for carpenters. This is what is meant by Adjustment, this is not taking back his word. The AINP Lawsuit can be comparable with thousand carpenters coming and knocking at the person door saying "But you said you need thousands of people for this !!!"

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
None of the arguements are well positioned in this debate. Technically AB Govt can do anything this was thier program but this is also true that it may have harmed people.

Thanks to ( letscrak, Rb_newsletter. GirlOntario, Hopeful Canadian } for posting comments, me and some of my friends was very tense after receiving that mail from Alberta (File Closed) and its true Alberta is not the End (whatever happens, something good behind it)

Second_angle: No one will quit the job or disclose, it was just a way to express
you should try to understand the feelings, if not than just......... .... ......

"I DO CARE FOR MONEY SPEND ON LAWYER BUT PERSONALLY MY VIEW... "TIME" MORE PRECIOUS THAN "MONEY" I HAVE GIVEN 12 MONTHS (1 YEAR) FROM MY LIFE WITH HOPES AND PATIENCE THAT WE WILL GET NOMINATED.
OTHERS WENT OUT OF STATUS, JUST HOPING TO GET NOMINATED...IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO EXPRESS SITUATIONS WHAT PEOPLE MIGHT HAVE GONE THRU IN PAST 12 -18 MONTHS WITH "HOPE"

ANIP PLAYED WITH "TIME" AND "EMOTION" OF INDIVIDUALS

Second_angle: You are right that they took what they needed and closed the doors, BUT THEY ALLOWED APPLICATIONS BEFORE THE DOORS WERE CLOSED, SO THEY SHOULD HAVE GONE THRU THOSE APPLICATION .

THINK WITH LITTLE SENSE IF YOU HAVE " THEY UPDATED AND REMOVED SOME OF THE NOC CODE " ON MAY 19TH 2009, If someone applying after that than we will not blame why they closed his file and this May 19th is the "LEGAL" way to stop further application.

AGAIN "TIME" IS MORE IMPORTANT, SO IF SOMEONE IS PUSHING THIS FURTHER TO TAKE ACTION THAN EACH AND EVERYONE WHO WAS AFFECTED BY AINP SHOULD SUPPORT THEM IN TAKING ACTION.

This thread is only for discussing H1B stream. If you wanna discuss other streams, take your _$$ to other threads opened for that.

Let's see this example
We know all analogies. People applied for H1b stream are highly educated and we don't need your explanation or advice. Our life did not start with AINP and never gonna end just bcos AINP shut their doors. It is plain simple: We spent money and our precious time. So we deserve it.

Could you just do us a favor by just posting only matter related to lawsuit and nothing else?

The thing is Alberta do have the rights to amend or change its immigration policies, but they should first inform the potential immigrant. They should have taken off the IT stream from their In Pressure list, but should have honored all the applications in the IT stream that were received by them before they made changes to their list.

I would suggest AINP to go with numbers. If they find the total number of applicants who migrated to Alberta and lived there for 6 months, that will answer why they should not have closed the doors.

The boom time in Alberta was due to peak crude oil price of almost 150 $ per barrel in 2008. That time Alberta govt expected that Alberta will be an energy hub of the world as it has the 2nd largest oil reserve in the world. That is how they have started the AINP program to attract skill labor and to meet the expected labor demand. But the boom time was busted soon world economy enter into recession and oil price tumble down to less then 50 $ per barrel. Most of the oil sand projects in Alberta were on hold as they were no longer profitable.( Refining oil sand to crude oil is process intesive and operate at a very low margin profit. Analyst says that in order that the oilsand projects are profitable the crude oil price need to be above 100 $ per barrel. )

So Alberta will open it door again depend on various factors - when the economy will rebound and if rebound will the oil price encreased or reamain at reasonable price. Maintaining a reasonable oil price again depend on new technology and political situation. We have to wait and watch.

One may say this is out of the topic, but I think this is important as well.

This definitely doesn't belong to this thread. But if you think you want to share one or two out-of-tpoic info you can do that. But you should provide the source from where you got the info. Otherwise it would look like spam.

There are many articles on Canada oil boom and lot in news about canada oil sand. One of the good coverage is 2009 March edition National geographic magazine, you can still read that edition from the NGM website at archive section. It will give you an idea of what is going on there.

Have they dropped the idea of filing the Lawsuit? Whats the point in delaying as justice delayed is justice denied...

Looks like it was another way to play with the emotions of immigrants by the lawyers and not a serious attempt to help the potential immigrants. Seems like AINP and lawyers are conniving against AINP applicants in order to help lawyers make the money.

I read in the topic - "Update about the class action lawsuit against Alberta - AINP H1B cases" that two law suits have been filed. Where can we get more information regarding this?

Thanks.
