ainp approved..and need a work permit

hi guys..i have been approved as an alberta provincial nominee under employer driven stream 2days ago. and i need a new work permit bec my current permit expires in april..my question is: can i apply an open work permit?? or my employer will have to issue again another new job offer or contract for the extension of work permit? thanks and any response is appreciated

Get your work permit extended with your employer while you wait. Open work permits are not issued to PNP nominees, at least not that I've heard of. If you have heard otherwise, you can ask the AINP. Never hurts to ask.

Hi Monina 1004,

Leon is right that you cannot get an open work permit but you can renew your work permit with the help of your employer. The good thing is, you do not need to get another LMO to renew your work permit because you are a provincial nominee. Ask help from your employer to renew your work permit.
