This is true. How they perceive the age gap varies per region. For India, they accept large age gaps if the man is older but they are not as tolerant for when the woman is older, even if the age gap is relative small. CIC has rejected a female applicant from India who was just 5 years older than her sponsor, though an education gap also existed (she was more educated).
