I beg to differ on this, the first digit doesnt tell you where it was issued but under which category as any SIN that starts with "9" belongs to TWP category.zardoz said:The first digit in the SIN tells where it was issued. Not a problem.
OK..I have a valid temporary SIN till november, so is it safe to continue with that SIN even after landing?zardoz said:You can apply for a SIN at any time, as long as you have it before starting work. PR card will be sent to the address that you give when you land. Takes about 68 days at the moment.
Just go to a Service Canada location, it will take 15 minutes for a new SIN. With the "9" SIN, employers are expected to ask to see your work permit. Work permits are invalid when you become a PR.Ravi1956 said:OK..I have a valid temporary SIN till november, so is it safe to continue with that SIN even after landing?
