Hello!!

I am just getting close to decision made and starting to wonder what my hubby and I should be expecting to do!
I know that he will receive COPR in the mail but will we know when that happens? How long before we actually see that? ECAS updated today to IP as of April 9th it said, so I'm curious to see what we should expect with how long before we have to land, how long before DM, how long before COPR and then what does landing look like? Is there anything we SHOULD know?

Really excited and also really nervous about all we need to go through shortly here!
Can my hubby apply for our medical once he is here? or does he need Blue Cross or something?
I know he gets a SIN card once he lands, just not sure what else we need! :D

Hopefully everyone else hears news soon!!

Don't you have to file for a SIN? I read that you had to do that once you were landed.

We are not landed yet, simply in processing, however I called and talked to office today and they said everything has been approved we are just waiting on the COPR!

You will want to look up how to declare items you are crossing with at the landing or will be mailed to you later.

Other then that, welcome to Canada!

Oh wow really!? Congrats! That is super awesome, hopefully I'm right after you since they started processing mine like maybe 2-3 days before yours :P

I'll add that the health insurance depends on the province. In BC there is a mandatory wait of about 3 months. I am not sure about other provinces, you should check that online.

Maybe gather some documents before coming, like marriage/birth certificates etc, because you never know what you might need them for.

And as Sheps said, look through forum for instructions on how to prepare for landing when it comes to declaring things you bring with or that will follow after you come.

The OP and I are both July applicants from Ottawa.
