I have applied for immigration to Canada as skilled worker from Turkey. I believe that I am in the last stage to be accepted as an immigrant because I was asked for update some document and for medical exam. I do have US -born baby so, he is US citizen. I am living my home-country, Turkey now. According to the agreement between Turkey and USA. My baby can hold two citizenships at the same time. I am concerning about future. After 4 year permanent status when we apply for Canadian citizenship what will happen? Will my child hold 3 citizenship (I think it is impossible) or will he need to apply to cancel one of the citizenship he has.

If someone will be able to answer me I would be grateful.

Thank you

It is possible to have multiple citizenship depending on the law of each country. It's possible that none of these 3 countries care if your son has 3 citizenships. It is also possible that one of them will make him choose when he's older. Some countries will take away your citizenship at a certain age if you haven't lived in that country or otherwise applied to make arrangements to keep it. It's something you will have to research. Personally, I think neither Canada or US will care if he has both.
