I just got an offer letter from Mcmaster university in masters program. Its a 12 months program (full time).

I wanted to know after completing my masters. I will get the AGWP of 1 year. Is there any chance that i can get it to 2-3 years. If i study anonther diploma after masters it will be good for getting 2 years work permit or not

Bs65 is right. You might get 1 or more year PGWP with just 1 years Masters degree depends on your luck. BUT don't make a mistake of applying for Diploma (permit) after completing masters's, you can expect a refusal. If possible extend your masters program one more semester as full time by taking extra courses (or something like auditing), so you can be counted as full time student for continuous 16 months (offcourse it will be extra fees for one more sem).

good luck.!

Thank you. I have 10 courses to complete the masters in 12 months but If i do it lets say in 15 or 16 months (one more semester) that will solve the issue? And do CIC extend study permit for 4 more months in the masters program?

If the Masters is a one year program - you'll get a 1 year PGWP. If you decide to take extra courses that aren't required as part of the program or if you take longer to complete the program - that won't get you a longer PGWP.

So what are my options to get atleast 2 year PGWP. I can't change my masters now. I can't go from masters to diploma. And one year work permit is not good enough I can't extend it. I don't know what to do.

What Master course are you taking and where ?

I got accepted in university of Ottawa as well as McMaster university. But I liked McMaster program as it was more of technical based. Masters in manufacturing engineering.

Is it MEng program?

Yes its an MEng program
I think in McMaster its 8 courses required (not 10?). But I am sure if you do 2 courses each sem = total 4 sems and all 4 are full time its still considered valid. PGWP is issued on program completion letter (which will say in this case 4 terms full time).
But still let other members comment on this approach.
Actually I myself is Waterloo MEng graduate (completed in 4 terms and got 3 years PGWP). your conditions could be different from mine, so don't just go my way. consult others too.
Good luck.!!

Yes it's 8 courses in McMaster and 10 courses in Ottawa. Thank you so much. I guess I have limited options here I thought after completing masters I can do a 6 month or 4 month diploma but that's doesn't work. So the last option I'm considering is yours I hope I can get more comments to help me out so I can take a decision.

After getting 1 year PGWP if I get a job I can't extend it beyond 1 year? I have to go back to my country? That's right? Or their are some options for internationals.

If you get a job during PGWP in your field of study you can be eligible to apply for PR under Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). PNP program have some different conditions from province to province..
but just getting your stay extended after 1 yr PGWP would be difficult (if you are thinking to get work permit through employer that's tough though).. I can tell you if you can get job specially in your related field /Engineering than you should not worry about your PR through PNP program.
Good luck.!
