After becoming PR (from Temporary resident in Canada), do I need to apply for new SIN?

Hi,

Does anyone know that after becoming the PR (have not received the PR card yet due to COVID19), do I need to apply to change my SIN (starts with 9 as of now)?

I could not find out the answers on the CIC, would really appreciate if anybody could share your experiences, thank you so much.

Yes you need to apply for a new SIN, and you do not need to wait for your PR card . A COPR is all you need to apply for new SIN.
