Can I got for international studies to Singapore or UK after applying for canadian citizenship I believe there will be a student visa on the passport

So at the time of interview will it be a problem ??

Why would you go Singapore to study? Or UK (unless is Cambridge)? Study what?

It sounds fishy to me, so imagine CIC.

As a human being you are free to go wherever your please, including North Korea. However, expect to be asked the spicy question: "Sir/Madam, sorry to interrupt your studies in Singapore, but would you like to come back and become a Canadian citizen?"

While I agree with you in part (CIC suspicion) , there is nothing wrong going abroad to study. The UK does have prestigious schools (oxford, Manchester, UCL).

Uh, you may be at a loss mate. Remember if you are leaving Canada for more than 2 weeks, you need to tell CIC. Recently, there are many people here who received test invites without any updates on ecas. In fact, some have completed their oath without any update on ecas. Therefore, keep these at the back of your mind if you plan on going to your home country. I believe you'll like your application to move smoothly.

That's the problem... that there is no guarantee that a specific application will go smoothly... people apply and after that they got no clue as of when everything will be done. I am blaming the CIC for that

Replicating to dave3000's comment on e-cas update I will add further:
Remember that you have to attend a personal interview, a segment associated with test now. In most case what they ask ("...any travels?...) and do is checking the passport and verifying any stamps/travels during or after your application period.
Studies abroad may be different or at least easy to explain I think...but going home country and chill for time to time may be risky.
Short term trip/s may be fine but long term or frequent absences may raise suspicions and complicate your case.

I'm not necessarily recommending this but I did know someone who went abroad for further studies while his application was in-process. No questions/concerns were raised during his test/interview even though there was a valid study visa (issued just a couple of months before his test date) in his passport.
