hi, walitys, are you going to have a lawyer go to CJ hearing with you? you should be prepared for a very rough interview. they may even look at all your past immigration files and records to find reason to deny your application.

Hi, zyx...98.
What do you mean by "past immigration files and records"?
Have you ever took part in a Hearing yourself?
What is your own experience?

Who is Mandamus? And why is he/she important in the context of Canadian immigration

That is an ad for a Canadian immigration lawyer not Mandamus can someone please tell me who he is?

Hi walitys

Could you send me the contact for the lawyer you went with? I have similar timeline as you and would like to nudge my case along. Thanks!

Regards
zeol

Please send me the contact as well as the fees involved.

I have a friend in the same boat.

Thanks,

Kenyadian

Yes, RQ was sent to me next day after I had my test (which I successfully passed).

Why I sue CIC?
I waited too long already. It has been 38 months now.
Last eCas record is 27 months old.
Justice delayed is justice denied.
I do not want my file to be ignored for 2 more years (no one knows for how long).
I want the court to check, whether this delay is a violation of my rights.
Or whether I need to shut up and wait in the line. We'll see.

What Rights? Citizenship is a privilege and not a Right, you have to earn it.
Better involve your MP to act on your behalf and don't go to court as it will delay further your case instead and you throw money out of the window..

Really? Read the entire thread. He filed mandamus and got scheduled for a hearing almost immediately. And yes, PRs have a right to citizenship under the law when they meet the requirements.

Good news: I've got a letter from CIC: Notice to appear for a Hearing with a Citizenship Judge on Feb. 21. (3 months between hiring a lawyer on Nov 18 and the CJ hearing).

Tomorrow is D-day. Good luck walitys.

I am also in the same boat applied in oct 2010, appeared for citizenship test at Scarborough office in jan 2012, had to send the cbsa report, since then there is no response. The last update that I got was a Cj hearing would be scheduled approximately within 24-36 months from last interaction which is jan2012. Obtained atip report which has the same notes that I was told.
