Afghanistan visa affecting express entry

Hi

I am planning a trip to Afghanistan in the next few weeks. I am also in the express entry pool and hope to get an invitation in the next round (I have 480+ points). Just wondering if an Afghanistan visa would have a negative impact on my application or processing time?
I have heard visa for USA becomes difficult if you have an Afghanistan visa in the passport. I am not too bothered about that but is this the same case for Canada? I am an Indian national.

I personally believe it would affect the processing time of your application. Canada do perform additional security checks on individuals visited high risk countries. In case your application gets picked for additional security check then there is no time bar when it comes to processing. They won't finalise till they get all clear from the external agencies dealing in security check.

There are exceptions i:e individual traveling in the capacity of a diplomat or an employee of the high Commision.

Thanks for the reply @Ps_vp . That is exactly the kind of thing I am worried about. Being stuck in limbo would be the worst.

If anyone has 1st hand experience of delays due to something like this please post below.

No, its not correct. Visa for Afghanistan neither affect US or Canada Visa. There are many westerners working in Afghanistan on work visa under usaid , charity and other organisation. In case you were asked for additional documentation you can additional documents such as letter of offer, work permit etc.

Why don't you cancel that trip? It is obviously impossible to answer whether you will get stuck in the limbo. Don't give them a reason to single you out
